Locations in Central MS

Hello all! My fiance and I are planning a January 2011 wedding. We would like to get married in Central, MS.. specifically Rankin or Hinds county, if possible. I am making a list of potential sites. I'd like to have the ceremony and reception at the same location, but I'm also open to nice reception sites. We have a tight budget also. Any suggestions y'all may have would be very helpful, thanks!

I am on a tight budget too.  The MS Museum of Art is great for the reception and pretty cheap.  Also Castle Hill Pavilion in Florence, MS is a great price.  You can have both the wedding and reception there and they have tables and chairs.

We are getting married in August at Reservoir Pointe. It's actually in Ridgeland so I don't know if that's too far for you, but its on the reservoir and they have a huge deck where we are doing the ceremony and then an entire upstairs that fits up to 300 people with a bar and a buffet and dance floor. Everything is included except the cake and flowers. They decorate a little bit for you. We are on a budget also so it's nice to have almost everything included for such an affordable price. We also decided on getting married on a Sunday afternoon/night instead of Fri or Sat-that is helping the price a TON!

If you at least want to take a look, go to cateringbygeorges.com and go down to click on Reservoir Pointe.  They've been great to work with too!

Susie Morgan is doing mine at the Jiggett's Home in Canton. Beautiful house and she does flowers, food, just about everything! She is very reasonable.

I am a photographer with a new business. I shot a wedding in January at Gazebo Lake it is in Utica, Ms. This is an awesome place to have the wedding and reception. Look it up on the internet. The owners name is Dorothy, and she has decorated it beautifully. If you need a photographer I would love to help you out. I have been shooting for more than 12 years, and I am trying to build my customer/client base so my prices are low right now while I build my business.

I second Castle Hill Pavilion in Florence. I'm getting married there this October and Ms. Betty is GREAT! Tables and chairs are provided and there's a big gazebo over the water for the ceremony and a really pretty banquet room! I picked it mainly because I could get catering from ANYWHERE and I didn't have to use in house catering. Reservoir Pointe is always good too - but it seems like tons of people get married there. The MS Craft Center is beautiful as well! Good luck!
