  The White Dress is in Corona Del Mar, but was a very pretty shop and had a nice selection of dresses.  www.thewhitedress.com
  
  These shops are designer gowns..the ones you see in magazines, etc...so the prices match.  I don't know what your budget is for dresses, but these shops have lovely gowns. 
  
  Sparrow Bridal sells new and pre-owned gowns and vintage items in La Mesa.   sparrowbridal.com.  Cute little shop with nice dresses.
  
  Bride Couture is in Poway and sells sample gowns....all are listed on the website so you can see what you want to try before you go in.  www.bridecouture.com

  Prevue in Grossmont Center mall!! They have great customer service and lots of selection. They also carry pageant and prom dresses. They're not a frou frou boutique but I love it and came all the way from Orange County to buy my dress. Have Liza help you-she is great!

  I personally would stay away from D'Angelo Couture in Mission Valley. I got my dress there, also got my bridesmaids first dresses and mom's first dress there.
  
  First off, they tend to not call you when they are supposed to.
  
  Next they almost ruined my dress. The first fitting they pinned up the hem. The second fitting they were supposed to be done with the hem, and it looked great, they also pinned on some lace they were adding to the bottom. The third fitting they were supposed to do the lace, but they changed the hem instead. They hemmed it 3-4 inches too short! I was kinda pissed, so I didn't say much too them and left the shop. I had my mom speak to them, and emailed them pictures of how the hem was pinned. They got the point that we were pissed. The fourth fitting the fixed the hem (they took out the hem as far as they could and it could be a little longer for me, but they cant do anything more with it) and they added the lace.
  
  Finally, we had the bridesmaids and my mom try on their dresses. They were all way too small. The bridesmaids couldn't zip the dresses up, a good 4 inches between the zippers. One of my bridesmaids even had dropped one size in her normal clothes since they got measured. They wouldn't refund us our money, and they said they can exchange them for us. But we really don't have enough time to get the dresses in. We ended up getting new dresses at Nordstrom, and the old ones are sitting in a closet.
  
  I just wanted to warn you about this shop. They had high ratings on yelp and stuff. They just grew and got a bigger shop, so I am thinking that may be the reason everything went bad.
