Anyone been to Lake Tahoe or Colorado??

Still trying to make up our minds about where to go for our honeymoon after our Feb 2nd wedding next year...We thought about Canada but now we are leaning more towards staying in the states and going to Lake Tahoe or Colorado being that it will be more budget friendly...Anyone been before that could give me some suggestions where to stay or go? THANKS <3

Colorado is a pretty big state! I lived there up until June and there are a TON of areas that have parks. What are you looking to do? You can stay closer to the cities, like Denver or Colorado Springs, or you can make your way up into the mountains. It will be quite cold, obviously, and the weather could prevent you from getting around easily, especially in the mountains. Prices are higher during this time as well because of ski season. If you want to have access to the mountain areas but trying to keep costs down, I'd consider staying closer to one of the cities, like in between Denver and Boulder, or something of that nature. Not knowing what "budget friendly" means, I can't say for sure.

  • For Colorado, I'd go to a small town like Telluride, which looks exactly like a small Swiss village in the snow.   Also: there are tons of things to do there.

  • Lake Tahoe is awesome.  I went back in 2004 with a group of friends and used my parents time share to be able to get into a resort at the base of squaw valley.  The weather was fairly mild when we went in Feb, so it was good skiing, but not freezing cold.  And, there's lots of other stuff to do within an hour or 2 of there, we did a drive all the way around the lake that was really cool, and even made a day trip to San Francisco.
Back then, we were able to find discount cards online that saved us a lot of money on lift tickets and ski rentals in the area.
