First Dance Song - We don't agree!

Any suggestions ona first dance song for a couple who have very different tastes in music? I'm more into pop/emo/top 40 and he is is alternative/rock. I'm willing to compromise but we just can't agree on anything. (And niether of us like coutnry). Thanks!

Just a couple of classics that have a touch of both pop and rock (and certainly were in the top 40 at some point of their existence!)

What about the Jem version of Maybe I'm Amazed? I feel your pain, FI and I have very different taste as well

THis is a painful, painful process! I think I might have won him over with Beloved One by Ben Harper. It was on a cd he made for me way back when we first started dating, so I think that might be the clincher.
