Wedding Photographer or Videographer?

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on hiring a wedding videographer as opposed to a wedding photographer? Now I had a photographer at my wedding last year, and a friend captured footage on his camera for us, but I wonder if i should have hired a videographer? What do you all think? My pictures turned out gorgeous, I used Wozinak Photography in Buffalo, NY. But my cousin who got married in Maine this fall, used a company called Don Johnson Weddings, who did videography and photography. They were able to get professional video feed and pictures from the same company. feel free to check out either sites and let me know what you think.

Re: Wedding Photographer or Videographer?

  • We are going with a photographer only - no videographer. This is simply because our budget won't allow for both, and we would rather have photos that we can pull out and look at any time. We would be more likely to go through photos rather than bust out a DVD, etc. But every couple is different. My dad hired both for his wedding. We recently sat down and looked at all the photos and watched their DVD and it was really fun!

  • I'll try! I'm not too tech savvy as for as uploading pics on tk...our first one was a long haired dapple, one blue eye...so awesome! He passed a few years back and we rescued woody who's the red haired guy.. Everyone calls him a silky wiener because he has medium long hair that is oh so silky! Lol our first ones hair was like that too...I occasionally trim his butt hairs but that's about it...

  • where is the original post for this? I just watched one of the videos, and first of all the main page of that website is showing equipment he uses, second, it's not even proper equipment for the weddings they are trying create, no depth of field on that camera, you can see the light attachment 'spot lighting' on people, looks like a news cast. Third, the website needs a face lift. Was this post done by the videographer do you think?
