Japan Tsunami

Hey ladies,

I'm sure you've all seen the news. Am I the only one who finds the footage absolutely heart breaking? I guess my cousin's school in Southern CA is cancelled today...

FI's brother is stationed in Japan with the Marines. He's okay, but he's sending us pictures. It's kind of crazy.

I have a friend here at school who is an international student from Japan. She hasn't heard from her family yet, so as you can imagine, she's not having the best day. If you ladies could pray for her and for her family, I'd really appreciate it. Everyone is getting ready to head home for break here today, so she's going to be alone.

Oh gosh I was just going to post this.

I'm completely heart broken!!  Prayers are coming her way.  Poor thing I can't imagine.  They're telling people in Oregon to take higher ground, which is a bit nerve racking for me because we have family in Albany.  Such a devastating time.  :(

I wouldn't be too worried. I was watching some live footage out of California and it's not anywhere near as bad as Japan. They've had a bit of flooding and some damage to boats (poor rich people...heh), but nothing serious. The oil refiners off the coast didn't report any damage, so I think everyone's safe. But still, you have to take necessary precautions and stay off the beach.

I will pray for your friend! I wonder if she could go home for break with any of her friends for a little so that she's not all alone?

I have a former co-worker/FB friend in Japan.  She is safe near Tokyo, but her hometown is very near the epicenter.  Luckily her family is safe and their home pretty much intact.  Everyone please continue to pray for everyone in Japan and the other surrounding areas that experienced damage from this tragedy.

BTW, am I the only one who sees stuff like this and remembers what Jesus said about the end times?  Kinda puts me on my guard spiritually.

She went home with me for Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks, but since I'm going on my mission trip, she can't exactly go home with me. And she's way too shy to ask anyone else.

I'm worried about her being here. I talked to my sister about coming up here (it's her Spring Break too) to hang out with her and she's not sure if it'll work, but she's at least thinking about it. Gives me some hope.

Southern California did not get hit. The danger zone was Santa Barbara and north. Cresent City was hit the worst. That's on the CA and OR border.

This whole disaster breaks my heart. I have friends in Tokyp. We heard from them after the earthquake but not since the tsunami hit.

I agree that this is so sad.  I feel so for the people of Japan.  It is hard to understand why things like this happen but I'm with you Sessions.  Makes me wonder if this is all that the Bible spoke about for end times.  Every day we need to be prepared to meet Christ because whether we come to Him or He comes to us, we do not know the time of that meeting and need to be ready for it.
