Profile Event Center- think I found a winner!

Hi all,
I just viewed the PEC on Saturday and we really like the space! We haven't looked at that many so far, but we could really see ourselves here. Plus, it's WAY more affordable than any others I had been looking at.

Steph- I can't figure out how to send a private message, but you had your reception here, right? Could you give me any insights about decorating and the vibe? My dad is a little wary about this place because it has more of a younger, club vibe, rather than traditional, but that's why we love it!

But I do want to make sure the older guests still have a really great time.

Well I'm a little biased but I LOVE the PEC and can't wait to have our reception there!  We don't plan on doing much decorating besides centerpieces and a memorial table.  I think the decor and lighting already in the Diamond Hall will suffice.  Which hall are you looking at?

The Diamond Hall as well. Are you doing a band or just the DJ? Large head table or sweetheart table??

Im going to have mine there also!!1 And so is my best friend!!!!!!!!! :D
We will be using their dj! We were worried about the club vibe feel but you can do less  lighting if wanted... and make it look less clubness.
     :)

     Im really excited also!

are you going to use  their cake provider?

We're doing a DJ from the PEC.  We're using Penny Steele instead of the Buttercream.  We weren't impressed with Buttercream.  When are you ladies getting married?

I also keep hearing buttercream horror stories..so that freaks me out... but we have time to decide that.....
But good gosh.. I dont know why so many vendors want them so bad.. they should have a few you can pick from...

Haha I felt the same way.  We booked Feb last year and I thought for sure Heather would think I'm nuts.  But 3 dates in Sept 2011 were already booked, so it's totally fine!

Yeah the guy from Buttercream kept trying to talk me out of my very simple design.  We visited Wuollet, Key's Cafe and Penny Steele and would have picked any of them over Buttercream.

     Where are you getting married?
  • edited December 2011
We haven't met the DJ yet.  Actually we've only been there once.  And only my FI and my mom has seen the space.  We called Heather this past summer and told her we wanted to use a PEC DJ and she was going to add that to our account.  Hopefully we'll figure that out in a few months when we go for the tasting.

  • edited December 2011
Yeah we're not too worried about the DJ part, since they'd have experience there and everything.  To answer your earlier question we're getting married at a church I attended growing up in Eagan

No real theme I guess.  FI and I joke our theme is awesomeness.  Haha.  Our colors are chocolate, plum and raspberry pink.  I plan to wear pink shoes! :0)

I think we'll go with this September or October, they have a couple Fridays left. Not too far away because I feel like with too much time to plan i am the type to go bridezilla! haha. I like to plan, and I'm not so good at waiting!

I think we'd do a band and have the DJ around for later. I don't know about a cake, i thought a chocolate fountain would be more fun.

GL K10! It's totally doable. My stepsis got engaged and married in exactly 6 months.  As for cake I already mentioned Wuollet, Key's Cafe and Penny Steele.  Penny Steele is the best cake I've ever eaten.  Key's was a close second and had the lowest prices.  Let us know when you book a date!

Another PEC bride here :)  April 16th in the ever expanding Casablanca room.  We are having a band and using another baker, other than BC. More info in my planning bio.  Congrats and god luck with your planning!!

Well.... I feel like i"m intruding in a personal conversation here ;)

K10- we were actually in the Casablanca room, and we kept stuff super simple.  If you want to see some of our stuff (ceremony was in the same room), feel free:

DrD recently got married in the Diamond hall though!  Try paging her and see what she says :)

How was it having your ceremony in the same room??  Did it have a different feel to it?  How was it when the room was being changed over...any problems?

    Thanks

Yep as Steph said - I got married there just over 3 months ago in the Diamond hall and LOVED it! There are pics in my married bio if you want to see the space.

And we booked 1 year and about 8 months before our wedding date.
One of my fav things about the PEC is Heather and her ability to work with you like your wedding is just around the corner. I prolly averaged emailing her once a week all the way up to the wedding and she was great with responding and answering my tons of emails.

I also loved how the space felt different. For me, I didnt want a hotel ballroom feel. Joe and I are both playful and fun spirited and wanted a space to reflect that. It was a great fit for us.

The food there is also SO good! Usually wedding food is not that great but both our tasting and the actually night was great! This was an important part for me and my Italian family too :).

If I can help with anything just let me know!

I was one of those! I booked my Sept 2011 wedding at PEC back in Aug 2009 so Heather won't think you're crazy, she's already had to deal with me ;-)
