Morning wedding brides? Please share your pics/planning!

I'd love some inspiration for creating a pretty, romantic morning ceremony and brunch reception. Do you have any tips?

  • I don't have any tips exactly, but I wanted to say that we had wedding at 11:30, followed by a lunch reception, and it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better for us than a big Sat night dinner/dance that everyone here does.  Good luck to you.
  • We kind of had the best of both worlds.  Our wedding (in Massachusetts) was at noon, with a luncheon reception immediately afterward.  We then had a much bigger reception three days later back in our home town.

You're welcome to check out my bio for things we did.  However, honestly, it was much simpler than a reception with dinner and dancing.  At that hour, we could provide unlimited alcohol without either breaking the bank or having people get stupid drunk, because people tend to drink a lot less at a brunch/lunch reception.  The lighting for pictures was wonderful, and we could take advantage of the lovely view.  We got shots of all the attendees, not just the wedding party.  The lunch was in a restaurant, which took care of pretty much all the details--down to creating a personalized menu with our names on it.  We had a couple of toasts at the restaurant, but mostly it was just a fun opportunity to catch up with people we love and see all too infrequently.  And when we finished lunch (at about 4:00 PM), there was still plenty of time to see people more informally before the end of the day.
