DJ Suggestions/pricing

I've met with a few DJ's and they all seem over priced or like giant goons. I want a DJ, not a clown... and all the DJ's seem to think that they are the main focus... which doesnt leave a good feeling. Does anyone have any DJ suggestions? Lively but not over the top and doesn't dress like a clown?
Also, what is the average price to pay for a good DJ. We'd need them for about five hours (using a string quartet for the ceremony/cocktail hour) and dont need a laser light show, still perplexes me that DJ's think they're working for Pink Floyd and not at a wedding... sigh.

As other messages on here have been discussing, everyone says Ray the DJ (and the DJs that work with that company) are the best in town.  I won't know if he is good until after my wedding, but Ray the DJs sure come with lots of good recommendations.

thank you for all of the suggestions! I'll call Ray's company... although I'm still a bit leary. I've seen his company cars driving around and get the strange feeling that young MC is gonna pop out of the roof and say bust a move. I've also heard All American is pretty good...
    Thanks again!

I'm using Rankin with AZ Music Man. We're paying $800 for 6 1/2 hours (He is very flexible with rates and hours). He is extremely professional. Definitely not a clown. I think he has something like 20-30 years of DJing experience. He is very considerate of what you and your FI want as far as a DJ and music, etc. He came highly recommended to me, so I would recommend him to you.
