outdoor candy bar?

I really like the idea of a candy bar for favors, but I am having an outdoor ceremony and reception.  Has anyone done this?  Should I just make sure to have containers with lids?  Any ideas would be greatful.  Thanks!

Re: outdoor candy bar?

  • I'm doing a candy buffet too, but our reception is indoors.  If you're doing any wrapped candies (hershey's kisses etc.) I think you'll be ok without a lid, but if your candies are open (jelly beans etc.) a lid would be necessary.

  • I agree, anything that is not wrapped needs to have a lid, but the wrapped candies can be out in a nice bowl. I think it's a cute idea. Just make sure that you aren't going to use any candies that will melt!! No sticky fingers!!

  • Definitely make sure you have candy that isn't wrapped in a container with a lid.  Also be careful with chocolates if the temperature is high since your reception is outside.  Wouldn't want your guests to have a bag full of melted candy!
