Ok so my bm dresses are a light gold color. My mom was looking at a plum dress and it looked gorgeous next to the bm dresses. So now I am thinking about changing my color scheme and having the girls wear a plum shoe. We are just having red rose bouquets. I was thinking of possibly having the roses wrapped in plum. My question is, is that too much color? I am going to try and work on an inspiration board but my mom seems to think it will be too much but if she is already wearing plum then I don't think it matters that I incorporate it into the bm's

    Without seeing the colors I think my first instinct would be to maybe try to work in plum else where throughout the wedding.  I'm not so sure about the plum shoe--- are the dresses long, is the shoe something you would see? 

    I think you can include plum subtly else where and not have to bring it into the BM's dresses necessarily. 

    I would just worry about the red and plum clashing- but it definetly depends on the shades of everything.  Hard to judge without seeing everything but just a thought :)

    I think plum and gold sounds so pretty. Are you dead set on red roses? If the girls dresses are long I wouldn't worry about the shoe (or just leave it up to them, gold or plum). 

    If you really love these three tones, maybe work out a multi-toned bouquet, red and plum flowers with some sort of gold crystal accent?

    I'm using eggplant and champagne as my colors (so, you know, the same as gold and plum to nonbrides :) so I love the combo. I have seen some bouquets that have plum and red flowers, but it has to be the right shades of each. I'm not sure about red roses with plum ribbons, but what about including a few of those dark purple calla lilies in with the red roses. That ties the whole thing together I think. I don't think it's too much color since gold is almost a neutral already. Very elegant.

    I would have to agree with the other ladies, I like the use of Plum and eggplant/plum but the red roses maybe working in other colors.  Good thinking ladies

    I love the idea of plum shoes with the gold dresses.  It seems really elegant, but also modern.  But I'd think more about the red roses...  if you have your heart set on roses, there are a million of shades to choose from, some of which may go a lot better with the gold/plum shades.

    Funny I'm going eggplant BM dresses and my mom is looking at champagne/bronze dresses. For flowers, I'm doing orange roses with some red hypericum berries throughout so I don't see why more red in the bouquets wouldn't work!

    I think if you trust your florist they can make anything work :) If you go with a deep red rose it could be really pretty. My computer isnt linking to your page. Are you having a fall/winter wedding?

    It is a fall wedding and I did request the deepest red rose they can get me. It seems however that my MOH and MOB are pretty against the idea so I guess it's out.

    Gold would really be considered a basic color to me, like white, black and brown, etc. I don't think including plum and red would be too much at all!
