Negril in October? Too much rain?

Has anyone been to Negril in October? We would really love to HM there but it is during hurricane season. Living in FL, we are used to the rain but curious about the weather in Jamaica during this time. Should we take our chances?

    We are thinking of honeymooning there the same time.  Where are you thinking of staying?  We're looking at Couples Negril, Couples Tower.  What about Punt* Cana?

    I have not been, but I have friends who went to Couples Negril for their honeymoon, and have gone every year since (6 years now) in August.  They love it and have never had an issue with weather!

    October is the end of the rainy season.  Even during rainy season, showers are usually isolated and not all day long.  Personally, October weather there suits me fine because it's not as oppressively hot as June-August.  October is also a good month for air fare deals to Jamaica.

    I also recommend Couples Swept Away in Negril-- been there many times and love it!
