Unique Ideas for Bridal Shower

I wont be opening gifts at my shower due to travel. My party is in NY. So everyone will give gift cards or checks and if they want ship an item to my house. I did the same thing for the Engagement Party and everyone was thrilled to just give gift cards, cash and checks! My mom is throwing the shower.

Im not really into games or putting anyone on the spot. It will just be eating, drinking and talking between allt he ladies. Is there anything someone can suggest to maket the time pass? Im guessing the only thing is to do a game. Let me know! Thanks.

If you don't like games then I highly suggest having your bridal shower at a restaurant or perhaps a nice tea place.  Then you won't have to worry about the presents or the games.  The activity of dining out will be the main event.  There is a really cute little tea room in mount dora but I can't remember what it's called.  Anyway, it'd be fun to rent it for a private event and then have tea sandwhiches and tea and then maybe some light hors'd oeuvres and desserts as well.  If tea isn't your thing then maybe have everyone get together for a sunday brunch.  Highland manor in apopka has a really nice sunday brunch and they have gorgeous private rooms that you can rent out.

Ditto PP about the restaurant.  Showers are about opening gifts and without gifts to open, they can be very, well, flat.  You definitely need to use the food and venue to their advantage.

Are you inviting the same people to the shower as were invited to the engagement party? As much as I generally dislike shower games, If you're not having presents, I would definitely come up with some games to give it some aspects of a traditional shower. Maybe even just 2 or so.

Here's a link with a few games to give ideas: http://weddings.about.com/od/theweddingparty/a/ShowerGames.htm

Some of them can be kind of corny, but people can usually have fun with them.

If you really don't want games, maybe some place like DeLeon Springs where you can make your own pancakes or something like that. I've never been there, so I don't know what the atmosphere is like, but I've heard it's fun.

THe shower is in NY and everyone that was invited to the E-Party (ladies) will be there. It will be in a restaurant. I know that the gifts are the main thing about the shwoer but i find it boring. Even my own bridesmaid said the same thing and she intends to not open gifts. We will see. Just wantd to get some feedback thanks!

Do you like to scrap book?

I recently went to a baby shower where each person made a page (or two) to go in a scrap book. It was a lot of fun!

The only thing is the cost to buy all the materials if you don't have any.

The hostess of the shower was already a huge scrapbooker, so she was able to bring a ton of supplies for us to use.
