Feedback Please

I am planning a wedding in the Hudson Valley. Does anyone have any recommendations about wedding venues? Has anyone recently had a wedding or been to a wedding at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie?? Any feedback helps. TU

Can you please specify where in the Hudson Valley you're looking at? It's a pretty big area.

We had our reception at the Grandview in July 2009. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you have. Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful experience with the Grandview. The food was amazing, the service was phenomenal, and I can't think of a single complaint. I can't recommend it highly enough!

I was at a wedding at the grandview. Very nice, good service, good food.

I will be honest though, other than the view (which we didn't really see because it was an evening wedding) it was the same as going to a wedding at Anthony's Pier Nine of the Poughkeepsie Grand just a little more fancy.

That being said, I think both Pier Nine and The Grand (where I had my wedding) do an awesome job and would reccommend them a million times over.

You really can't go wrong with any of them.

I got married at the Links at Unionvale and would totally recommend them!

We looked at the Grandview but were not willing to budge on wanting a Saturday wedding and couldn't afford the cost with the minimums but i loved it there.

I think it depends on your budget- I looked at Anthony's and The Grandview but to me they were just regular venues and the food was TERRIBLE at anthony's when I went for the tasting!! I have signed with Falkirk Estate and Country Club- it will be about $200 per person but it will be sooo worth it!! Good Luck!

I booked the Grand not the Grandview. The Grandview was a little too pricey for me but my friends daughter did the Grandview. I think both are worth looking into. The Grandview has their prices right on the web. I have all the Grand information if you want it email me: dirollot@yahoo.com and I can forward to you. Good Luck!

i just booked the Grandview for my reception so I may be partial.. lol But i absolutely loved it there! but like the other ladies said it depends on what you want.. I wanted an outside ceremony... so thats why i choose it I am also having a day wedding in the fall.. so i think it is the perfect venue for me. However, I also fell in love with the Grand which was way more affordable, just didnt have the outside area.. its only downfall is there is not a lot of places to take pictures.. so you would def need to set up places outside the venue to take pictures.. its perks are its price and packages. It has many different food choices and the people there were awesome.. esp Michelle. the rooms there were also really nice..
the grand and the Grandview are affilitaed with the grand hotel and they offer a bridal suite and 5 rooms in the hotel along with thier package. Honestly it was the best packages (in my opinion) in the area lol
another awesome place near there is the Villa Borghese! its a different style but def worth taking a look at! It also had packages on different price points and the coordinator Erica there was amazing!

I hope this helped i looked far and wide before i booked.. so i know what your going through i hope this helps! Have fun!!!!!!!

As I said, i got married there so if you have specific questions, let me know.

Also, on April 2nd, they are having an event with drinks, dancing and food ... i think it is a $10 cover. Would be a good way for you to check it out....go to their website to see....www.thelinksatunionvale.com

I believe they have their bridal show the end of April..I'd call them to registar to go and get an idea of what they have to offer.
