Bridesmaids Gifts

I am having some trouble coming up with an idea for gifts for my bridesmaids.  I have one matron of honor, 4 bridesmaids and one 7-year-old flower girl.  I am having custom-made wine glasses painted for all of them (except the flower girl) but that is not the only gift.  I have been searching jewelry stores for a set for them to wear at the wedding but just haven't found anything I love and I wanted something a bit different than that.  I also have some who like silver and some who like gold.  I was just curious if anyone has chosen great gifts in the past for their bridal parties that may help me!  Thanks!  I appreciate any input!  Laughing

    The consensus on here is that if it's something they need to wear for YOUR wedding (like the jewelry sets) it is not a gift for them. You can certainly purchase a particular jewelry set and have them wear it if you really want to, but that's not a gift for them. You should consider what each girl likes individually and give them different gifts if necessary.

    Do all of them like to drink wine for instance? If not, I wouldn't get them a wine glass.

    I agree that jewelry (or any other accessory) that is to be used for the wedding is not really a gift.

    The best rule of thumb is to get each girl an individual gift that she will appreciate and enjoy.  Think about what you would get each girl for a "big" birthday.  Unless you have Stepford bridesmaids, it's unlikely that all of them have the same taste or interests.

    Thank you all so much.  I definitely don't want to purchase jewelry for them that they MUST wear for the wedding day......I figure if I'm picking the dress, they can pick the rest (hair, shoes, jewelry, etc)!!  I really appreciate all of your help!
