any opinions on Catering by Scott?

I had a tasting/meeting recently with Scott from Catering by Scott.  The food was great and he had some proposals drawn up that didn't seem horrible (I do have a bit of sticker shock), but I'm curious to know if anyone has any feedback on how he's been for other weddings?  I read some reviews online but they were all over the place and not very helpful.

    I am in the same boat, like I have never heard anything about him before I started looking, but he seems really nice. But he sent me a proposal and it was like crazy over what I told him like around 4000 dollars over, so I was a little sticker shocked too, we are having a meeting with him this week, becuase i just don't understand where he is coming from. 

    But I have heard the food is great and their beverage package is pretty good too so I am hoping we can work something out. Good luck

    I haven't worked with him personally, but part of the reason why I didn't go to him was due to the opinion of my wedding planner.  When my FI and I were looking at venues, one of the sticking points of one of them was that he was the only caterer.  My wedding planner said that he was honestly the worst caterer she has worked with.  I really like my planner and trust her opinion so I personally decided not to go with him or that venue.

    I'm having a wedding at Via Vecchia in August and Scott will be our caterer. I was a little shocked when I started working with him but when I explained our budget he was able to work with us to come up with ideas that stayed close to that range. He can come off a little strong on the phone but so far I've really enjoyed working with him.

    We met with Scott today and we just really wanted to talk in person about our menu, and he showed up and had food for us to try. Needless to say we were shocked by that and thought that was amazing. I feel he is very fair on his pricing and he does not really have any hidden cost. And now that we have tried the food it is pretty good as well. His pricing are going up in a week and he was very nice and said he would honor the old prices and the prices are still reasonable we believe. 

    I think as long as we enjoy the wine tasting and enjoy the venue when we go see it we will probably book with scott and via vecchia

    LOVE him. Love, love, love him. I am also getting married at Via Vecchia in August and the cost of catering is expensive, but I think that's just wedding catering. He is my wedding anxiety reliever. He has worked with so many different people and has reccomentations for anything you need, eases my mind when I start to stress, and has told me over and over that we will work together to make things work. I have had nothing but good experiences with him so far. He has gone above and beyond and I can't say enough good things about him. = )
