Great idea for unwanted RSVP's

I was looking at invitations and found the perfect wording to avoid having my cousins write in their own guest count!

"We have reserved ___ seats in your honor.

M___________________________

__  accepts with pleasure

__ declines with regret"

It's probably considered rude, but maybe I'll just do it with certain family members.

  • I don't think the wording is rude. It might actually be a bit better than what I had planned to do which was put something like ___ out of 2 accept/decline. I might have to steal this since we're having a kid free wedding and I don't want everyone thinking they can bring the kids.

  • Thanks for sharing. I am also having a kid free wedding, and was worried that word of mouth would not be enough. I want to avoid that awkward phone call saying "umm, you rsvp'd for 3, but only 2 of you were invited....." lol I might be stealing this too.

  • Thats what my sister did as well.  Just a warning though.  It worked for almost everyone but there will always be a few people to call and ask to bring their kids.  One person just showed up with their kid...
  • That is perfact and not rude at all!  I say go with it!

  • I dont think it is rude at all either. But if it makes you feel better, only send it to the invitees you are worried about.

  • I don't think it's rude. In fact, I know some of the girls on the e-board suggest wording invites this way specifically o avoid people over rsvp-ing uninvited guests.
