what do you all think?

My love I waited so long for you that I had begun to believe there was no such thing as true love, that my life would be lived out alone, that nothing precious would come in the form of someone to love.  Finally, after so many sorrows and missteps and losses, after I had given up all hope, you were give to me like a miracle, like a single elegant star in the darkest of nights.  Now I feel joy now I feel whole, Now I feel that anything is possible.  Thank you for coming into my life, than you for loving me well.  I have waited so long for my heart to be glad, for my soul to be full.  Thank you for coming into my life.  Thank you for coming into my love.    __

    I don't want you to take this as me being mean, but I think that would be a really nice thing to write in the card to your FI on your wedding day, but not your wedding vows. I think wedding vows are more of a promise that you make to each other.

    I sort of agree with justanotherbride... I think its a heartfelt sentiment, but a little too much about the past to be your vows. This is just a personal opinion, if you feel like it fits you and your FI, then go for it!

    We were thinking of having "God bless the broken road" as our first dance song, because it means alot to us, but listening to the lyrics, its so much about past hurts, it seemed inappropriate. So we're having it as a slow song later in the reception, but something more happy for the first dance.

    I tend to agree as well. Vows are just that promises you make to one another for your future together. Maybe you could tell him those things at a rehearsal dinner or something?

    I have to agree with PPs.  Don't get me wrong, I think it's a lovely passage, and you should definitely use it somewhere...but maybe not for your vows.  I like the idea of putting in a card for your FI the day of.  If you aren't going to do the traditional vows, I think it would be more appropriate to write your own, instead of using someone else's words (it would be more from the heart that way).  You might actually be able to use that passage as a reading during the ceremony, though.  Just my 2 cents. :)

    I think this passage is great for your vows, but I would add in something about what you promise to give him in marriage as well.

    actually everything needs to be translated into vietamese for the wedding so writting my own is not an option. not every word translates so i needed to find something that will translate correctly and i dont speak well so we were each finding prewritten ones that say what we want that will translate well.
