NWR...calling ATL brides

in African American Weddings
And surrounding areas. So me and the soon to be hubs are moving to the ATL area. I've been looking online at apts and townhouses. Mainly in lawrenceville, loganville, and sandy springs and a couple in lithiona. Do any of you know about daycares, school systems, close by grocery stores and such. Im going down 1st week in April to look at places, more than likely make a decision, pay dep and 1st month rent.

    I live in Lawrenceville. Gwinnett County has a really good school system. Let me know what you need.

    Yayy Fancy !! Lawrenceville is the top of the list. How is the academic rating for the school ? Do you know of any good daycares ? What about grocery stores ? I have 2 apts that im looking at. How good is this area compare to the others I named ? Do you pay taxes on food ? Utilities company names ? Thanks

    I wouldn't suggest Lithonia.  It is in Dekalb county and they are on the edge of losing their school accreditation. I work in Dekalb but live in Fulton.  The sandy springs area is nice, but can be quite pricey.

    Aww..really ?! Thanks for letting me know that about the schools. Sandy Springs is a bit pricey. Some of the places I looked at is around what I pay where I live now. So im ok with that. Thanks for the info.

    Yeah stay away from Lithonia it's changed alot from when I lived there 10 yrs ago. I would move to Lawrencebille if I was you. Great school, nice shopping, seems like everything is out there. Make sure you google apartment reviews also. I've visited a few and after I read reviews changed my mind.

    My best friend lived in Lawrenceville and i loved that area i do knw they have a really great school system there and really nice homes but being a Florida Girl thats about all i knw LOL

    I'm not sure about the other areas but I live in Sandy Springs. I love it over here no complaints. It can be pricey depending on budgets etc. As far as daycare i've been looking for one for my baby and the Sandy Springs,Alpharetta, Roswell area is significantly higher than any other area. The cheapest daycare i've found is about 250 a week compared to other areas of 150 ish a week. But I love the area its close to all the malls, good restaurants good schools quiet and not far from downtown.

    I was born and raised in Dekalb county (Decatur/Lithonia).  I will honestly say that the Lithonia area has changed drastically since my family moved there about 15 years ago. We were one of the newer developments and now it's really crowded and a bit "urban" in our neighborhood.  I'm always amazed when I go home to visit.  I'm a product of Dekalb County school and I turned out great (:)), but I don't know if I would recommend it to someone new to the area.  That being said, The Sandy Srings area is great, depending on your budget.  I've heard good things about Loganville as well.  Lawrenceville can be hit or miss depending on where you live.
