Floral help - recommendations please!

Hi -
I was hoping to ask for some help in finding a florist. I've interviewed a few & most of the people I've talked to have been very nice & professional, but a bit too expensive for our very small wedding. (we're only having between 30 - 45 guests at a small reception venue) My front runner for florist was really great and although she did a good job on my sample, it wasn't what I expected. However, I do understand that some varieties may not be in season currently, as it's currently January and not September. I was hoping to see if anyone could help me find a great florist who isn't crazy expensive for a St. Paul wedding at the end of this summer? (Sept 2012) Attached is what I was thinking for my floral. (the middle one is the one I'm gravitating towards the most)

Thank you!!

  • Munster Rose!  Jackie is seriously an artist, and she will work with a set budget.
  • Lacey from Intuitive Blooms is who I am using! Great prices and does a beautiful job with her flowers. :)
  • We're using Bachman's, and found them to be helpful and fairly reasonably priced.

  • Lisa with Forget Me NOT Floral Events.... AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, FABULOUS! I loved working with her every moment of the way! We had a lot of flowers (technically 8 bouquets, 20 bouts, coursages, altar arrangements, extra arrangement at the reception ((we didnt do floral on the tables)), some roses for our moms and I'm sure I'm forgetting about some...) But we ended up paying around $400 for everything and 2 weeks later they looked just as amazing as they did when we had our wedding! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lisa - she's based in Burnsville, but will deliver anywhere in the metro for free!
Her email address is lmboerner@comcast.net tell her Annie & Grant sent you!

I highly recommend Deven Nelson www.devennelson.com  She was very reasonably priced and extremely knowledgeable about flowers-and makes beautiful arrangements.  We spent $500 for 5 bouquets (including my own: $175, $40x4), 2 bouts ($8/ea), 5 corsages ($10/ea), as well as rental of vases/set up of my DIY centerpieces ($100), and hair flowers ($5)

I have pics and a full review in my bio.

  • I second Bachman's!  It seems that you already have an idea of what you want so you may not be looking for someone to give you ideas, rather someone to execute.  We've met with Karen (at Bachman's on Lyndale) a couple of times and she has been phenomenal.  Plus we have found their prices for the flowers we want to be a bit cheaper than a small florist's prices...and because I kind of worry about anything, I know that if there is any sort of a problem with the flowers, Bachman's has enough inventory to fix things in a pinch!  :)
  • I used Cara Otten of La Petite Fleur. She is based in St. Paul and did a fantastic job on my October 1, 2011 wedding. She is extremely creative, excellent at communicating, and made some great suggestions so that we could get the look we wanted while staying within budget. Definitely would recommend her!

  • Late recommendation... but Emily of Prairie Fair Events is phenomenally talented!  She has a very natural style to her bouquets, does a beautiful job, is pretty reasonable and is very responsive.
  • I am using Pretty Petals by Bridget and she is wonderful at working in a budget and getting what you want. I highly recommend her.
