Who has married on a beach in West Maui? HELP!

Hello, I"m new to the knot weeding boards so bare with me :) Just got engaged 3 weeks ago and we've decided on a Maui wedding on October 18, 2012. We are so excited and just our parents will be coming with us. My biggest concern is which beach to marry on in West Maui. I'm considering DT Flemming and Ironwoods. Has anyone been married on either of those who can suggest another one. My biggest request is for a more private beach. It will be on a Thursday in October so I would hope for less crowds but who knows. Any suggestions would be great! thanks

    I am not sure what time of day you are planning to get married, but most of the crowds have cleared out by early evening so it should not be major problem if you are planning a sunset wedding. I am planning on getting married on May 21 at Kapalua Bay, which is on the west side. I will post a review when I return.

    Hi there,

    I wanted the same thing.  I am not getting married until next year.  My WC suggested Paipu Beach on the south side.  He says it is more private and secluded so I went with this beach.  I have never been to Hawaii so I am going on his word only.  Congratulations and best of luck to you!!

    Ironwoods is one of Kapalua's least used beaches, so you've got a better shot of quiet with it than with DT Flemming. A lot of companies use DT Flemming as a launch point for kayak trips to Honolua Marine Preserve, so there's that kind of competition for the beach space too.

    Ditto what kaesha said, DT Flemming is a popular beach and can get quite crowded. I would vote for Ironwoods also. Good luck :)

    Thanks girls. Mauigirl2012 we will be doing a sunset wedding. I look forward to hearing about your wedding in May. sounds like ironwoods may be the way to go.
