Bridal Shower Costs

I am in my cousin's wedding and we just met to discuss the bridal shower.  The shower is going to cost upwards of $500 per bridesmaid (6 of us) with both mom's chipping in a good amount.  The other weddings I have been in I haven't paid more than $250 for the bridal shower.

Is that high or is it just me?!?!

    Thank you!! And its not like we are financially stable bridesmaids at that.  I am planning my own wedding, two are in college, one in dental school, and one going for her masters so that leaves the MOH financially stable who IMO is being a MOHzilla if there is such a thing!!  Sorry for the vent!

    Its being held at some restaurant in NY where they live (not the NYC though).  Apparently she has like 100 people on the list that needs to be cut down drastically - e.g. your sister's MIL who you or your sister don't even like does not need to be invited IMO!


    The price includes lunch, wine, and favors.  Three of the other BM (her sisters) think it is ridiculous but dont want to say anything bc they want to give their sister what she wants!

    Wow, that is a lot of people for a shower... just think about how long it's going to take to open presents.  Maybe she can cut down that list to close friends and family.

    Also you can nix the wine to save some money.

    i didn't even invited my sisters MIL to my wedding.  She's an awesome lady too and my sister gets along with her really well but I only see her at my sister's so  I wouldn't have even thought to invite her ha.  Agree, it needs to be cut down. 

    I'm sure her sisters want to give her "what she wants" but does she really want each of u to spend $500???

    I have no clue what she expects us to spend but I know that when it's time for mine I would never expect them to put up this kind of money!!


    Thanks ladies I just needed to hear that I wasn't the only one thinking that price was outrageous for a shower!!
