One week from today we'll get married on Po'olenalena beach, and we'll leave for Maui in 5 days!!!

I was just thinking about you this morning when I was realizing we leave in 5 days for our planning trip. So excited for you!!! Btw how is your leg healing?

Oh and I love the Brea & Steve getting married in the maui map...how did you create that??

Well, I made the maui map a while ago. I got them printed and put in a frame to give the parents in Maui as a placeholder for wedding pictures.

I basically screenshotted the google maps of maui and traced over it with the pen tool in PS, then added a stroke and colored the rest. I teach a class at Towson University on Photoshop

It probably took me 2 minutes total.

Then I took that image this morning and put the image of steve and me in it, added a layer mask in the shape of the island, and just added the text.

My leg is healing pretty well! It's not by any means fully healed but there is no comparison between now and where it was this time last week. I have my follow up appointment at the burn center at Johns Hopkins tomorrow. Hopefully they'll give me some insight as to when to expect it to be healed enough to go swimming and what I can/can't do in Hawaii.

I'm so excited though! Only 5 more days until we're there

I did have the realization that we need to cancel the zipline tour as well since the harness will rub against the wound and I don't want it ripping open freshly healed skin

Oh Brea, the hits just keep on coming right? I'm glad you're healing, and I hope the Doc has good news for you. On the bright side, when things like this happen it helps you focus on the very core, central bit which is the marriage, and you'll have an excuse to go back in a few years to do all of the activities you might have to miss out on this time! I'm so excited for you and Steve. 10 days really isn't long -- make sure you keep grinning & enjoy every minute of it.

Exactly!

Steve was bummed about the zipline tour needing to be cancelled, but we've both agreed we want to get back as soon as we can afford to, to do everything we're missing out on this time.
