Im plus sized and have found out that every store has there own way of doing things...most try to pin you in, or put the dress up to you for you to get an idea.  The best two places I found were Juliet's bridal in Parksville and Bridals by Elena in Severna Park.  Elena has great pinners and you can get a great idea in any dress!  One of the worst was Columbia Bridal, so I wouldn't recommend them...

This is sort of second-hand info, but when I was trying on my gown at Betsey Robinson's there was a plus-sized bride there and they were doing a fabulous job, she actually started crying and told the woman that she was so glad she finally found a place she could try on dresses.  I overheard her say she had a really bad experience somewhere else...I am so nosy.

Also, one of my friends got her bridesmaid's dresses there and she had two plus-size girls and one very pregnant girl, and she said they were great to work with for that.

There is actually a shop in Columbia that has nothing put plus sized samples. I considered going there when I was worried about my dress search but never had to go because I found my dress before I got there. Anyway, here's a link: http://www.curvaceouscoutureonline.com/

Also, I had good experiences in both Juliet's Bridals in Parkville and Amanda Ritchey's in Fallston. For reference, my street size is a 16W.

I know there is a place in Parkville called Poor Little Rich Girl that a GF of mine was able to try on several dresses.  She actually found her dress there, but I am not sure if it was in her size or just OK for her to try on.
