hi january brides, i lurk this board almost everyday & always want to post but my phone never lets me.... anyways, i was wondering if anyone using a DJ knows how it works.  like do we pick every song, do they give us a list of songs we need (cake cutting, toss, first dance, etc.) we don't hear from our's for a couple more weeks so i'm just trying to figure it all out. thank you :)

& i can't believe it's coming up so soon, we'll all be married soon :)))

    Normally you give them a list of the following:

    • Songs for specific dances (ie. first dance, father/daughter, etc)
    • 'Must play' list
    • 'Do not play' list

    Outside of that, a good DJ will feel the crowd and play what the crowd seems to like, take requests if you let them, etc.

    Ours had us give a general feel of the music we liked, such as Top 40, or 70s, or jazz, and then the stuff that Mark said. We also told him stuff we didn't want to play.
