My lord, limos are expensive!

Just got back from a bridal show, and I think my jaw must have dropped to the floor. FI really wanted a Hummer limo, but it's looking like a far away dream. The running price for 2 hours seems to be about $950 Surprised

They also start timing it when they leave to come get you, not when they pick you up. Just not sure I can justify this cost... Non-hummer limos don't get much cheaper either...

Any wedding items end up more expensive than you initially thought?

    Wow!! I had heard that about them starting when they leave for you. That sucks :( What about renting some kind of cool car? I know some people get vintage cars, etc. Do you have any idea on the pricing of those?

    They are CRAZY! Definitely one of the things I did not anticipate costing so much. We aren't even sure we're getting one at all yet. Our BP is fairly small and the drive between the church and reception is only 10 mins.

    The limo was one cost i was surprised about, esp for 2 hours. These photobooths are also a bit pricey. Oh, and finding someone to officiant! OMG in our area, these people make a killing!

    The officiant and the videographer both ended up being much more than anticiapated!!

    I was expecting $100 for the officiant and $500 for videographer (ceremony only).  Most officiants start at $300 and videographers at $1500 just for the ceremony!  Luckily we found a nice minister for $250 and an excellent videographer for $800, but it sure did take a lot of searching!

    Our officiant is costing $435...we're still on the search for a resonably priced photographer.  I don't need the pictures to look like I'm in vogue.  I just think $1500 and up is a bit crazy!!
    Good job on the videographer price!

    My biggest surprise expense was VIDEOGRAPHY!! MY GOODNESS!! I searched and searched and found one for under $1,000 with a great package (still have to reserve our date though), but geesh!

    And this why we're not getting a limo. I just couldn't justify the cost!

    I found photography to be really expensive. I mean, I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but most of the photographers we liked were $2000+ :/

    Yeah we aren't doing limos - we only live 5 minutes away and the ceremony and reception are in the same place so there is no way we could justify that cost.

    I was really surprised about videography prices! Anything we liked was over $3K and the ones that were even slightly cheaper just seemed to be much worse quality.

    Agreed with videography cost. I dont care much about it. I just want the cermony, toasts, and 1st dance, so I ask my brother and play dad to do it to ensure we have something.

    I used limos.com and found a great price. Thought we won't be able to afford it, but it's in my budget. It's like priceline or kayak for limos. It's worth a try, might be able to find something in your price range.
