Reception Venue!!!!! Help!

I am losing my mind trying to find a reception venue.  Does anyone know of any good places near Delaware?
We have looked at the Anthenaeum, the Zoo, Four Seasons, and Wedgewood.  Our favorite by far is the Anthenaeum, and second is Four Seasons.  We have appointments to see Station 67, Brookshire, and Royal American Links.
The issue here is that we are getting married in Delaware.  The Catholic church there is just lovely, and it is where my parents were married 38 years ago, so it's kind of a must for me.  Also, our wedding is going to be in January, and the weather could either be sunny or a blizzard.
We are very torn about whether to book the Anthenaeum, knowing that our guests would have to travel 40+ minutes in potentially bad weather or try to find a place closer to Delaware.  The good thing about the Anthenaeum is that the hotel right down the street offers rooms at $89 and provides a shuttle to and from the reception.
Is an hour (potentially) drive worth it?  The guests will have 2 hours in between, so they should have plenty of time, but don't know if I should risk it!

Well this is what I have heard that people will drive an hour. But I don't know about your family and friends and how they would take it. We are getting married at a church in West Jefferson and then our reception is at the Athenaeum so it is about a 30 minute drive.

My friends is getting married at Brookshire next August and she loved it, everything is including in the price so all you have to do is contact their go to people and she likes because she is moving out of town. But honestly it is your wedding and no one is going to remember how far they have to drive, they are going to remember you.

    Good luck to you!

    What about:

    Bent Tree Golf Club
    Bridgewater Banquet Club (Powell)
Little Bear Golf Club (Lewis Center)
Wedgewood Golf and Country Club (Powell)

Usually anything between 30-40 minutes from the church to the reception is good. Some people consider it rude to keep guests waiting and traveling that long.

What about the conference center at the Josephium on High Street? I know it has a name, but my mind is drawing a blank right  now.

If the hotel is near the reception then I think it would be fine, assuming the weather is not treacherous of course. The most important thing is for your guests to not have to drive far after the reception, IMO.

isn't it the jessing center? at the josephinium?

Yea, I feel different about it.  I feel like if they are at the hotel near the Anthanaeum and they have a shuttle, and the weather DOES end up being awful, then they can skip the wedding, since that is really the only out-of-the-way thing.  But as my FI says, and he's right, "that's the most important part".....
Thanks for the advice!  Keep it comin!

Yup, that is it. Total brain fart. And I even checked into that place for my own reception.

You should check out the conference center at north pointe. It's really pretty, and they have guest rooms there as well so guests can just walk back to their rooms. I'm not sure about cost, but is at the corner of 23 and Polaris parkway.

Our reception is at Villa Milano and we are very excited about it! It has a fountain in the lobby and a HUGE dance floor and Tina is just amazing to work with. It's off of Shrock Rd and the Crown Plaza hotel that we booked is 1.2 miles away and gave us a room rate of $79. They are also letting our parents have suites for the $79 rate.

The Hilton Polaris also has a ballroom, and if you're ok with not serving alcohol there's the Everal Barn in Westerville. There might also be a ballroom or something suitable for a reception at Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware.

We are getting married at Scioto Reserve in Powell.  I love the space.  If you go to their website you can look up their wedding gallery and check out some of their pics.

My friend had her reception at the Jessing Center in Worthington a few months ago and it was really nice and she said the staff was helpful and accommodating. If you are still considering a downtown reception, my Fi and I are getting married at The Vault this summer. We were interested in Station 67- but once we looked at it, we were not impressed. We did, however, fall in love with The Vault. Good luck with your decision! Once you pick your location, the rest will fall in place :)

I was at a wedding this weekend and we drove 30 minutes back to the hotel and then took the hotel shuttle to the reception. I have never had to do that before but I didn't see anyone who minded and that made me feel a lot better because I am making my guests drive from the synogogue on Olentangy River Rd to the Makoy Center in Downtown Old Hilliard. We booked the hotel close to the reception and have a shuttle lined up just like the wedding I was at this weekend. Now that I have gone through it as a guest, I am feeling a lot better about asking my own guests to go through that.

If you are really worried about the driving conditions, maybe you could arrange a large shuttle from the hotel to the ceremony and back again. If you used the Renaissance or another nearby hotel, you could negate the need for the guests to drive regardless of the weather. That being said, I know that unless the deal was really good, I would not be able to fit a guest bus into my budget.

Good luck with your decision. I am sure that no matter what you choose, your guests will be forgiving.

I had my wedding at Bent Tree golf club and they were awesome. It's In Sunbury, very close to 71/rt. 36/37, so a quick trip from Delaware. Our hotel block/rehearsal dinner was at Polaris.
