Must Take Wedding Pictures

I know we are all at different parts of our planning or post-planning lives. But, do you have any must take pictures?  For you married Knotties, if you have some in your bio, let me/us know.  I'll stalk them out ;-) haha. I'm thinking I'll be getting started on this little project soon!

Feel free to PIP some faves too!

This is one of the things I regret. I was happy with our wedding pictures, but wish we would have gotten more. I did not write out a must take list for him b/c I was so busy with planning an out of state wedding, bachelorette parties, finishing up programs and favors, that I didn't get a chance to. I wish I would have put some of the stuff that really didn't matter aside and focused more on the pics.

I don't have a list in my bio, but I know there are some good must take lists in some of the married ladies' bios around here on TK. I think I had some of them bookmarked, but since I don't have my computer right now (we are in the process of moving) I can't get to them.

What blog do you write for (if you don't mind me asking)?

One of these days I'll figure out the pming system on here..... I write for a stationery company that owns a bunch of other stationery companies! Nothing big but I get free reign really.  Once in awhile I get a list of keywords (for SEO) that they ask me to boost if I can... otherwise 6000 words a week on well... weddings! So much fun especially now that I am getting married.  i get to spend hours and hours on bridal pages and filled a whole shelf in  my office with books on wedding planning and DIY projects, and a couple drawers of supplies to try out projects I find to see if they can be made to be useful for weddings!

Hoping the wedding doesn't burn me out on it though! I may take a couple weeks off after the wedding to recoup! I have enough of a backlog of articles to meet my minimum quota :) I am capped at what I can submit each week and writing is very much my thing so I always have a TON extra!

Anywho- I really like the idea of the southern tradition of the bridal photo shoot before the wedding.  Trash the dress pics are sooo prettyy and the locations are awesome, however once the wedidng is over, I personally can't wait to pack it all away!

My must have list for my photographer-

    Unity candle ceremony
    walking up the aisle
    wedding party
    first kiss
groom with our son, his mom and his grandmom
    groomsmen and groom
    moi and my bridesmaids
    first dance
feeding of cake! though ive been told I'lll be wearing the cake if I smoosh it in his face.....
kids! love the kids at weddings pics they really do such awesome things

I hired a fairly amateur photograhpher and her assistant all day for like 425 bucks with the copyrights to my photos so really looking forward to all of the candid shots as well!

OMG I love it! I tried picking up extra blogs with other sites but what I am paid now is apparently well above industry standards so instead I kick as strying to get assigned other sites form this company.  So far I am only up to 2 sites but hey a girl can dream... they own like 7!

Journalism wasmy focus for a long time but without the finances for college it was a long shot so I wound up working everything from waitressing to sales.... I happened upon this... My FH used to be the web developer for the company and happened to see on a white board that they had a question mark under "blogger" for a site they were rebuilding.  Since I blog so much anyway he suggested me and they gave me a trial run.  Apparently their other bloggers have sooo many grammatical errors when he opens the blogs that within 2 months he found a way to get me assigned a second site!

But basically I get to spend lots of time online to see what brides are talking about to give me ideas for blogs and I get to gather information from all over into one place :)  Right now I am looking for ideas for DIY projects for weddings so I can publish step by steps for other brides :)

I am so incredibly jealous of you. It sounds amazing! Where do you blog? I'd love to read it. Good luck branching out. If you have any tips for someone looking to get a blogging gig, please PM me.

As for your upcoming project - DIY. Have you ever looked at StyleMePretty? I know it's a pretty well known site but she has tons of cool things from changing the color of mason jars to tailor to your wedding to stir sticks. I know girls are looking everywhere for tutorials to create button and brooch bouquets too.

oooo button and brooch bouquets! /eyes her crafting desk,  i try to do  the projects I find so I can provide pics and instructions taht are easy to understand as well as incorporate any variations I can think of or find for them! One stop shopping!

I am one of the bloggers for TheAmericanWedding.com

but they have another blogger that has been doing it for years they just recently asked me to do 2-3 blogs a week for them because she isn't consistent I guess? IDK.

Now that MyGatsby.com 's new site is up and running I am the sole blogger there! They disabled comments though because it was getting those "buy viagra here"  comments and they are too lazy to moderate! The blogs they are posting now ... many of them I wrote months ago ... they are a bit behind!

I basically get to gather all the info I can on a subject and if its longer then they need for SEO... they break them up into 2 or 3 blogs... which is great because like I said I like to fit all sides of a topic into them if I can!

As for tips? hmm like I mentioned I really fell into this... but all I can say is faithfully maintain a blog of your own.  Write about a variety of topics that you really reserach or know a lot about.  Show you are flexible etc.... This way you always have a link to an instant portfolio.  take little jobs blogging or doing SEO articles to add to your resume.  Having that under my belt is what made them give me a shot.

Some companies hire other companies to have their writers do articles for them on a per job basis... I used to work for one of those and the boss would post the jobs available and you would have a 2-3 day turnaround to have the articles you said you would do ready.  It isn't a living but it is extra cash and a start if you can write a lot quickly.
