First time post...need some ideas

Hi Everyone! So I have all my big stuff done which has me feeling great!! But now I am thinking about all the smaller stuff. My wedding colors are Horizon blue and Truffle brown and the wedding is in July. I know the brown for July is weird but I really liked the combination.  So I am trying to figure out if I really need a "theme"? Yes, I know I should have started there.  Do I really need favors at each place setting or would various bowls of favors around the venue be enough? I just hate wasting a bunch of time and money on stuff no one takes and uses. The venue has a pool table and I really like a vintage feel so I was trying to come up with something to mix the two? If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. I'm not really all that good at this girly stuff.
 Thanks so much!

Welcome! You came to the right place for advice :)

First, brown can work for all seasons.

Second, you don't have to think of "theme" as being something additional added to your decor. Your colors can be your theme!

Third, I personally think a favor is a nice gesture for your guests. It doesn't have to be extragant. Something edible goes a long way! i.e. chocolate, candies, cookies.

And lastly, how cute would it be to use a different numbered billiard ball as each table number? Even if you have more tables, you could even take a photos of billiard balls and photoshop in a different number onto each image, print them out and presto!

    Welcome!

I second vintagefix, brown is so beautiful and can be used during any time of the year.

As far as theme and favors...you don't necessarily have to have a set theme or do favors at all. I've been to 6 wedding in 2009 (including my own) and only one of those weddings had favors. It was a Herhsey's bar that I still haven't eaten.

No one even noticed that we didn't have favors at our wedding, so if you don't want to spend the extra cash, you don't need to!

I think that horizon blue and brown is beautiful, and would work well in the summer

As far as favors go, don't stress about them.  I don't think that it's as important anymore to put a favor on each person's plate.  I think that people will enjoy the time and food and experience more than a silly favor they probably won't use anyway.  So don't stress about it :-)

My colors were cornflower blue and brown in August, so don't worry about brown in the summer.

favors dont have to go with your theme. My theme is german fairy tale and as far as favors i'm going all out but its my personal choice and 100% DIYwith a basket full of teas, honey, and white chocolate to help the guest sleep. i wouldnt suggest doing more than a little something edible. Maybe you could ask a couple of your closer guests what they would like to see as the favors.
