Mexico Beach, Fl & VBRO

Hey Everyone! I've gotten super close to booking things for our honeymoon. We have decided to stay in Mexico Beach, FL and want to rent a place for 6 nights there. I have contacted a few people though VBRO.com. I received an email  back from one saying that we could rent their 2bdrm townhouse for $669 (tax and all) for 6 nights in October. I really excited about the price (I think that's a good deal? is it?) and the location of the house. The owner said the total sum would be due 2 weeks before arrival My question is how do I make sure this is for real and we aren't about to be ripped off? We have never rented like this before so I'm a little nervous..... Thanks !!!!

Re: Mexico Beach, Fl & VBRO

  • We've rented with VRBO.  Ask if there are any additional fees; like cleaning.  Some apts we've looked at charge up to $150+ for this.

Otherwise, it's common for a deposit or full-payment to be due ahead of time.  Before signing an agreement (make sure you get everythign in writing), make sure that you agree on check-in/out times.

It's a cheap and fun alternative to hotels!
  • ok cool! i asked about a deposit and they said it was just the total, no deposit.....

hz80408 /> thanks for mentioning the cleaning fees....i didn't even think of that & i will defiantly be asking for a written contract :)
