tell me about your favors, pls

Hi Ladies!

Would some of you mind sharing where you purchased/plan to purchase your favors?  I've been dragging my heels and haven't decided what we're doing. FI and I agree that they should be edible.  Favors will most likely be chocolates and jordan almonds.

We invited over 250 guests, so if anyone can recommend a local store, or a reputable website that is inexpensive ($3-4 a piece including packaging, does not have to be personalized), I'd appreciate it!

For each person we did personalized boxes of matches & tins of  NY Yankee M&Ms .  For each couple (or singe if the person was alone) we gave a personalized silver bell that we had engraved.

The matches we got at Forever Favors in Middletown (which I think I heard closed unfortunately)
The M&Ms we ordered from the M&M site and the bells we got from Foreverandalways.com

We made a donation as well as an edible favor.

We went with Ferrero Rocher chocolates. They were a heartier chocolate - I didn't want something that would easily melt. Both Bed, Bath and Beyond and Target have good prices on the 12-pack packages. We gave three per person. We put white tissue paper in each box. And got the white Brides line boxes from Michaels. I also used burgandy ribbon. (The boxes came with white ribbon, but I wanted burgandy to match our colors)

I think, because I'm a writer, I'm going to do the place cards and favor in one.

I want to make little bookmarks with everyone's name on it, and a discreet table # in the corner. Then it's a cute little, practical favor for all!

Now we just have to make something footballish in there for Matt, since that's his thing. :-)

We might do some other little favor too, not sure yet.

When i went for my makeup trial, the make artist (christine from colormakeupstudio) had samples of chocolates from a former bride who is a chocolatier and a former client.  I used her chocolates for my bridal shower and EVERYONE raved about them.

Thanks Chris for reminding me! We did something like this!

One of the girls (I forgot her name, but she's now on the nest) did chocolate kiss roses as her favors. And I contacted the same woman - Yvonne's Cat House on Etsy .Search online for chocolate kiss roses.

They weren't favors per se for our wedding - but they were passed out to women at the wedding during the bouquet toss songs. I didn't toss my bouquet, but passed out flowers. I had planned on passing out real flowers when we were doing bud vases as the centerpieces. But changed to chocolate flowers when we went with a standard centerpiece

My Fiance and I are taking a different approach.

We live near ALbany and next to some great pick your own farms. My Fiance is a chef so she is going to make homemade fruit jams and some flaored (apple, peach) butter. Then I'm into homebrew so I'm going to brew some cherry wheat beer and a oktoberfest beer to give out as favors.

We are getting married on Nov 11, 2011
