Dress shopping

Just wondering how everyone is doing with their dress shopping, I just found out I have to have mine ordered by November in order to have it in time for my May wedding! Yikes, I don't have a lot of time right now due to work and I am getting so frustrated, I have three dresses in mind but no shops in the area have the samples to try, and although I could order it from another store on line I don't want to order if without trying it on.
I have been told by a few people that appointments are about an hour long and at the end of the hour if you haven't found a dress they make you re-book, is this true? Can you reccomment a good place to dress shop westren gta area, any good expereinces??
The rainbow room in Hamilton has one of the designers I like but I have heard they are not dependable.

    It's only September - you've got lots of time! That sounds about right; I was told to order my dress by Jan-Feb for my August wedding.

    I went to one shop that had appointments (Ritche) and yes, the appointment was an hour long, but they didn't make me re-book at the end. I just told them, I'll think about it and call you back if I want to make another appointment.

    I ended up shopping at stores downtown where I didn't need an appointment. Basically the dresses were all on the rack and I was free to pick out any I wanted to try on.

    I'd suggest that instead of aiming to try on specific dresses, just go to the shop and try on a bunch of dresses that they have. Stay open-minded. It'll be a lot easier on you.

    Thanks, I am thinking that is what I will have to `do, I just have so little time ... anyone been to Windsor bridal?? I understand its big and has a good selcecion!

    I ended up getting my dress at Bridal and Beyond in Mississauga.  It is a huge store with a ton of selection.  The appointment was an hour but they didn't kick me out when time was up.  They just had to attend to other brides to be as well. 
    I also visited Best for Bride a few times which is in Etobicoke.  The selection was quite good and but the service was hit or miss.  There was one lady that was extremely helpful and full of ideas, while the others seemed to not care so much.

    The Danforth is a good place in Toronto for Gowns - Becker's Bridal, The Dressroom and Vogue Sposa.  All within short walking distance. 
    I just got back from 4 appointments in Woodbridge.  Definitely worth the trip there.  Having too much time to shop is not necessarily a good thing.  My wedding is September 3/11 and I've been shopping since March.  I keep telling myself I have so much time so I don't commit to any one dress.  I have about 4 in the running now.  They are all so pretty :)

    For those of you who have committed to the dress, did you feel you knew it was the one when you put it on? I have an awful feeling that being able to commit will be another issues, I love cloths and I love shopping, yet for some reason I just keep putting off going shopping for my wedding dress, I just get this ugg feeling in the pit of my stomach and them put it off ....

    Once you buy it you should stop looking, I know it's so hard to do, but you will fall in love with one dress, so try not to torture yourself by thinking about all the others.

    I'm from the suburbs, so I got my dress at Superior Bridal in Markham.  They had a lot of dresses and were really helpful!

    I actually didn't buy my dress the day I went for my appointment.  I tried on a bunch of dresses and found one that made me cry, but I wasn't ready to commit.  So I left empty-handed, thinking I needed to try on more dresses before I could be sure.  Except that I couldn't stop thinking about my dress!  So I finally realized that I didn't need to try more dresses on after all, and went back and bought it.

    I'm pretty sure that fear of committing to the dress is completely normal. :)
