Where are you having your RD?

Where are you having your RD?  I am leaning toward Zea's. any better options?

Re: Where are you having your RD?

  • Do you have any preferences on price/location?  We did ours at Palace Cafe and I couldn't be happier. Everything was perfect. The minimums are very affordable and there are lots of different menu options at all price levels. I am sure they would work with you on whatever you need. All of our guests loved everything! Super service and great food!
  • We did a morning rehearsal at our venue so opted for a rehearsal brunch at Commander's Palace. It was amazing and surprisingly not as expensive as I thought it might be. I think the option we chose was around 29 per person plus drinks.
  • We are going with the Irish House.  If you want something a bit nontraditional, you could check out Rock N Bowl too.  I had a friend do that and it turned out great
  • We're doing Tujague's.  They have been very flexible and accomodating.
  • Tommy's on Tchoup is really great and is more affordable than other fancy places.
  • We did ours at Herbsaint and it was fabulous (and not badly priced).  Would highly recommend.
  • DOOKY CHASE! Best food and elegant decor!
  • We're having ours at Antoine's and couldn't be more excited!
FWIW, it was suprisingly more affordable than I expected, as long as you don't go crazy picking the most expensive option for everything.

Good luck! And if you give more suggestions on price point / general vibe you are going for, I think you may find the responses more specifically helpful to you
  • We're using Copeland's in Metairie (on Veterans Blvd. past Bonnabel).  I picked Copeland's because that's my favorite restaurant, and I didn't want to have a typical stuffy rehearsal dinner at some fancy over-priced restaurant. This is going to be buffet style in a private room.  There were lots of food options to choose from and I already know everything there is good!  My fiance's mom set everything up and she's been very pleased with them.

  • The Reef Room at Acme Oyster House in the FQ was awesome and a fantastic experience for all the out of town guests. Very reasonably priced too!
  • We are having our RD at Zea's in the Audubon room. My fianc and I went there one day to try the menu we had chosen I had never eaten there before and they totally hooked us up! We were able to try a little bit of everything and still had food leftover when we left. We are very excited to have our dinner there!
