Anybody have a cathedral set E-ring? Is it easy to find a band to go with it?

Hi! :)
I am reading on here that there might be issues finding a band to go with a cathedral set E-ring which is worrying me. I just got a princess cut solitaire in a white gold cathedral setting and hope it's not going to be hard to find a band.  I imagine it won't be that hard otherwise they wouldn't make such a setting, but some posts I have been seeing are stresing me out!

Thank you!

  • Can you post a picture of your ring?  It might help us give you suggestions on what might work best.  Use the little box with a tree in it to upload a picture.
  • Mine is a cathedral E-ring also and I had to have my band molded and made to fit correctly so they were flush. They look like puzzle pieces that fit together now. So much better that a regular band looked. You can do either one but I preferred the one that we had made to fit together with my ring.

My mom did this for her wedding ring.  They kind of hook together, and there is a diamond on each side of her stone in her engagement ring once it is put together.  It is really cute.
  • I think it's fairly easy, just might have to get a notch in the wedding band depending on how far your solitaire sticks out from the band on your engagement ring, a lot of times I see a matching wedding band which is straight around and sits lower where the band of the engagement ring with the cathedral setting sticks up a little higher as it slopes upward toward the center diamond on either side.  Once you start shopping for wedding bands the jeweler should be able to help you find styles that will work with your ring.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • I do and I"m going with a diamond shaped enhancer. That way the cathedral doesn't get in the way and it still looks really nice. To make it even harder, Mine is a perpendicular marquis cut (it doesn't go the same direciton as the band) Good luck!

[QUOTE]Thanks :)  i am getting stressed over nothing.  I am sure I will find something.  I am hoping a band with small diamonds across half of it will work.  I have always thought those were pretty.

This is what I have (or will have -- my wedding band is still stashed away in my FI's dresser drawer for another 5 months). I have a solitaire round-cut diamond on a cathedral setting for my e-ring, and then a band with 10 small diamonds along it. I try them on together all the time and I really like the look! It's just enough "bling" without diminishing the e-ring/solitaire.
