**comeongetdown & amandad**

So I had my first fitting yesterday and dammit, I forgot to take a pic of the bustle!  Its a 5 point bustle I think (but then I had to pay for 3 more loops as well?) kind of in the shape of a rainbow, the way the lace is picked up looks really pretty.  I am so mad at myself for not taking a pic, but I totally thought I was going to have to order another dress I was not expecting to actually have things done.

Speaking of, my dress is too tight and the seamstress thinks the next size up would be way too big.  I can try to lose the weight of course but I cannot risk it.  So we are adding a corset back.  I thought it would be too much but hopefully people wont think so since they didnt see it before... the back will not be any higher or lower, the corset part will start at the top of the zipper part.  So really the only difference is that my back will no longer be a "V" but more of a "\_/".  I really wanted a corset dress to begin with but I fell in love with this dress.  I do feel relief because now if I DO lose (or gain) weight, I wont have to worry about alterations, just tighten or loosen the laces more!

  • i got my bustle done thursday and didn't get pics either.  the lady said there's going to be 6 points.  the ones under the dress she can color code so it'll be easy to figure out, but then there are points between the lace and the skirt that they won't be able to color code, and she said she would draw us a diagram.  i was like, "what?!  it's so complicated, i'll need a diagram?!"  hahaha  we'll see i guess.

i was a little hesitant about the dress not having a corset back when i first got it.  my seamstress took it in so it fits PERFECT!  i could proabably stand to loose a couple pounds but i definitely can't gain any.  i think that'll be fine though, i usually lose weight when i'm stressed.

i'm interested to see what your dress will look like with the corset back!  you'll have to post pics when you get it back!

what bra are you wearing with it?  i got the VS bra with the sticky sides, but i don't know if i like it.  i may wait until i get it back (this thursday) and experiment with some different options to see what i like best.
  • My mom used to own a bridal shop so I am hoping she will be able to help me out when it comes time to put up the bustle.

I will definitely post pics of the corset back.  The one they are adding is Ivory, but I am on the hunt to find a champagne ribbon to do the actual lacing with.  I think the contrast against the ivory modesty panel will be nice, but again, might be too much, so I will see.

As of right now, I am not wearing a bra.  I wear a 40DD so none of the "invisble" bras even come in my size.  I was going to have the seamstress sew in cups but even those didn't feel any more supportive than the dress itself.  The dress actually holds the girls in nicely but I do want to do something to give them more oomph :)

One thing I found out yesterday was that my shoes suck.  They were soooo painful I was begging to take them off after 30 minutes.  So now I am on the hunt to find something else with the same heel height.

  • Ooo, I'd love to see the corset back, too! I'm actually worried about losing too much weight (I've lost about 20 pounds since I got the dress) and was wondering if a corset would be a quick fix, just in case.

I also think it's funny that none of us managed to get pictures of our bustles. We're such slackers.

Have you checked Joann's for ribbon? They have a TON of different shades at mine- I feel sure they would have a champagne that would work.

    I got this bra:

And added clear straps and one of these low back converter things:

The combo works really well for me- Can't see anything and I still feel nice and "strapped in." ;)
