DJ Help

I am on the hunt for a fun DJ for my reception, which will be held in Becker so either DJ's from the St. Cloud area or Elk River/Anoka area are in the running. I am looking not to spend a small fortune on the music because we are on a budget. Has anyone booked a DJ or know of a good one at a decent price?? What is a good price for a DJ??? Thanks for the help :)

You get what you pay for. There are a lot of DJ's willing to travel out there from the cities. I realise you are on a budget, but if you think about it, how much are you spending on flowers, and decor, and invites, etc. That is stuff that guests don't remember. Think about the weddings you've been to and ask yourself if you remember that stuff, and think about if you remember whether or not the dj sucked. To us, the DJ is one of the most important things. That's why we were willing to spend a little more to get better quality. We want our guests to have a good time, and flowers just don't make that happen.

You could also try the MSP board! They are a lot more active!

I've heard that $600 is a low price for a good DJ. I haven't done any research myself yet, but this is the ballpark estimate I've been assuming.

I met with a David Wallace, Neon Express Entertainment, Bloomington, Mn 952-221-0440. His prices range from $250-$550 for the basic packages and then there are a few extra's you can add on ranging from $25-$50. The package that we're doing is $350 (for 200-300 wedding guest's). He was the DJ for a friends wedding last summer and did a really good job. If he has to travel over 75 miles he charges a extra $50. I think he is totally worth looking into!!

It also depends on what time of year you get married. Many DJ's offer discounted rates for off-season weddings.

We're using Passaria Entertainment. I think they're $350 all night because they're newer but they have been DJing at St. Johns for 4 years or something. http://passariadjs.com/

www.eventsbymv.com He is a great and hard working DJ. I have seen him at a couple different events. He is also reasonably priced and willing to travel!
