Dallas Loft Spaces for Reception

Hi ladies,

My FI and I really like the idea of having our reception in a loft-type venue. We've looked at a few so far and haven't had much luck. Some are in really bad locations, some we weren't able to find on Google Maps, and one is booked. Here is a list of places we've already/still considering:

- Lofty Space
- 3rd Space (too small)
- Hickory Street Annex (booked)
- 7 senses (Google Maps told us the wrong directions and don't want that to happen to our guests)
- 2616 Commerce (meeting w/them on Saturday)

Do you ladies know of any other loft spaces in Dallas?

ETA: Oops, Victor's Event Room is in Grand Prairie not Dallas.

Thanks ladies!! All good venues. I forgot to mention that we are having 200 - 225 guests and we would prefer the venue to be in Dallas....

I had my reception at Lofty Spaces and it was a great space! The neighborhood is questionable, but it is easy to get to with out driving through to bad neighborhood, and he will provide a parking attendant.

That same owner also has "Off The Grid" which is an old Power substation turned event space a few blocks from Lofty Spaces. It has some awesome character, but it was a little small for our wedding.

My brother is getting married at the Filter house this year, and it is more of that old 'loft' feel.

Three Three Three is about a block from Hickory Street Annex and is a similar feel. I went to a wedding there a few years ago, and it was beautiful. I had an issue contacting them when I was looking, but maybe they've changed coordinators or she was having a bad month.

I went to a reception to Lofty Spaces and I was not thrilled with the space. I liked the space but the sound was horrible, we could not hear the dj which was on the other side of the room. My friends had a slideshow but it was too bright to actually see the pictures. The neighborhood is not very nice... I would consider something else.. just on my experience as a guest.

I was going to book 2616 Commerce but I didn't like how they don't have exact prices. My sister called for me when I was looking at places and they gave her a different price than me. Also check out the Flight Musuem. We had our company party there last year and it was really neat. I wanted to book with them for my wedding but its too big for my guest list.

Hmm...interesting...We're meeting with them on Saturday. Thanks for the info; now that I know that and if we like the space, we will definitely try to bargain!

Sounds like their DJ/AV guy had issues. our DJ brought his own gear and there were no sound problems.

We went to a wedding at Off The Grid last year and loved the loft-type feel so much we're having our wedding there this March. I can't wait. Our friends didn't have a problem with their dj sound.

I love loft look too do not book here. I had my reception there in July and I wish I would have found another place. I'll add more details later as to why you should not book there.

Again, this thread is 8 months old. What issues did you have? Who were your other vendors? Please don't come on to the boards with the sole purpose of bashing a vendor without having specifics. This could lead people to believe that you are simply a competitor looking to shed negative light on your competition.
