Need Help please; planning a wedding reception in Central PA from Texas

Hi ladies; I've been on TK since 2008, but have never posted on the Central PA board before. I'm getting married in Mexico in November, but will be having a reception/wedding celebration in February in Central PA.

Since I currently live in Texas and won't be coming back to Pennsy until Christmas, I would LOVE your recommendations/suggestions.

We are going to have maybe 150 or less guests and want the whole thing to be pretty chill. A buffet of gourmet comfort food stations, a couple couches along with the traditional table set-up.

So far I've contacted the Carlisle Ribbon Mill and the Carlisle Learning Arts Center and JDK Catering.

Where are you all having your receptions and who is catering it?

Thank you!

I'm getting married at Stokesay Castle...they have in house catering.  It is in Reading, PA.

Their event coordinator (Laura) is awesome and very very helpful.  The website is horrible and doesn't have any information on it...if you call her she will email you the information.  www.stokesay.net

I'm having mine at a golf course in York, PA.  It's called the Royal Manchester Golf Links, and they do all of their own food.  It's casual, but elegant.  I love it!

We are having ours at the Cork Factory Hotel in downtown Lancaster. The hotel is catering the event. They do buffets, stations, or seated dinners.

Just a note, I've tried some of JDK's food and I loved it!!!!

Our ceremony and reception is at Roundtop Mountain Resort in Lewisberry, PA. It is also known as Ski Roundtop, but they just changed the name. They use their own catering company called Altland House Catering. www.altlandhouse.com

It's a laid back atmosphere at the base of the ski mountain. Our wedding is in September, and your reception would be during ski season - so I'm not sure how that would work. They do cater to other great locations - look at Liberty Forge on their site. It's a golf course and also relaxed.

We are getting married at the Majestic Theater in Gettysburg (also catered by the Altland House).

Our reception is at the Yorktowne Hotel  (historic hotel w/ an awesome ballroom).  The chef has won the Iron Chef PA competition for a few years and the food is fabulous.

We had our wedding at the Cameron Estate inn and planned it form Las Vegas. THeir packages are all inclusive and you only have to deal with the Cameron Estate Inn for the reception and catering. There is also lodging available with 17 rooms.
