Hey everyone! Need some opinions.  I am on a strict budget and  need to make sure people don't RSVP for more people...I was thinking, since I am  printing the invites myself, on the RSVP card filling in the number of people and then they can check if they are attending or not and what meal they would like...what do yo guys think? Is this wrong???

    You can state on the RSVP that x amount of seats have been reserved for them.

    Since you're printing them yourself you could always personalize each one.  It's more work, but makes it pretty clear.

    The pleasure of a reply is requested by x date 2012.


    John Smith  ____ Fish   ____ Chicken  ___ can't party down with y'all.

    Jane Smith  ____ Fish  _____ Chicken ___ can't party down with y'all

    Etc.

    We did:

    Mr. John Doe _____ Accepts _______ Declines
    Ms. Jane Doe_____Accepts________Declines

    and for people we were inviting with a +1 we did a fill in the blank for the guests name

    It took a little extra time, but it was worth it. This way, we knew exactly who was coming in the cases where not all of the party that was invited actually came.

    My understanding is that no matter how crystal clear you make your RSVPs, people will still try to get you to allow extra guests. Your idea sounds just fine, just be prepared that some may try to add write-ins and you'll have to call and explain you can't accommodate extra guests.
