Help with the processional

We are having a very small ceremony with no WP.  Our officiant suggested having a sort of processional of our close family (grandparents and parents), which I suppose is pretty common, but we hadn't really put much thought into it.  The problem is that we can't figure out who could walk in with my step-mom. We have groom walking in with his grandma, my grandparents walking in together, his parents together, my mom and step-dad, and then no one for step-mom. Obviously dad will be escorting me. What should we do? I don't want her to be the only one walking in alone, but I just can't figure out what else to do. I absolutely cannot designate a sibling to do it because there will be an eruption of jealousy/hurt feelings from the others about not being spotlighted. And I thought I had everything figured out!

Re: Help with the processional

  • I really don't see her walking in alone as being a problem. I think people will understand that her husband is escorting the bride. I honestly wouldn't give this a second thought if I were a guest.

  • Do you maybe have a nephew or two that could escort her in? Ive seen this very often for Mother or step mother of the bride.
