I have pretty thin hair but I really want to do a half up-do for my wedding. I was thinking of doing extensions for volume, not length purposes.
I've never had extensions before so I was just wondering what the experts on this board would recommend I do. We are getting married while on a cruise. The ship leaves on Sunday and the cruise is Tuesday. I do plan to swim in the ship's pools the day before the ceremony and also soak in the hot tub. Also the latest I'd be able to get extensions put in if I go that route would be the Friday before we leave (so about 5 days before the actual wedding).
With all that in mind, are extensions do-able/advisable for my situation? Would clip-ons or another method work better? Or do any of the thin-haired ladies have any up-do suggestions without extensions?

I believe in a lot of things. I believe in fresh tennis balls, the healing power of bunnies, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are something I'll never read. In fact, I don't even know who Susan Sontag is. What is she... like... a painter? I believe in Crystal Lite because I believe in ME. I believe in the movies of Val Kilmer, though these days it ain't so easy. I believe in Darren Sproles, the word "dabble", the first season of "Silk Stockings", and big, warm, moist, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth and all over your face.
