Not typical bridal shower ideas

Does anyone have any ideas on places in the Milwaukee or suburb area for a bridal shower or any ideas?  I am looking to have a bridal shower that isn't you typical bridal shower with stupid games.  I am however looking for something affordable.  HELP!

It all depends on the crowd you have.

For my bridal shower, we had appetizers, gifts, dinner.  In between there, a friend of mine had offered to do henna tattoos (almost everyone got one) and then after dinner, those who wanted to stay hung out and played Wii games. My MOH reserved the rec room at a friend's apartment complex.

Tons of fun, not a ton of money.

I am in the same boat. My MOH's and Mom were adament about throwing me a bridal shower. I finally caved in and said ok but on my terms......No shower games, a pig roast, males and females and very casual and laid back. Going to have it at my Mom's with a luau theme. I can handle that....and oh yes, a keg :o)  I had to stand my ground about no games (backyard games are fine, shower games aren't!) lol HTH

I'm in the same position. I was thinking about talking to the hotel we're booking for the actual wedding and maybe even my alma mater. Or, maybe a park with a cozy cabin type thing?

I am not a typical bride myself and wanted something far from a "normal" bridal shower.  We decided on just doing a couple's shower.  Doing a corn roast type event, keg of beer, meat, lawn games and some good company.  No typical bridal shower games, no sitting there while everyone watches me open presents, none of it.  We may do a luau theme as well, just because we are going to HI on our honeymoon.   Basically just going to be a normal Saturday evening barbeque.  I can't wait!
