Table names or numbers?

So I posted a questions on my month board, as to what people will be doing and now I am wondering what my SA knotties are planning to do....Are you just using table numbers or are you naming you tables?

I want to name them, but I am at a loss to what....Do we use all the the places we have visited? Since we take a lot of road trips, do we name them after the highways we have been on like I-80. LOL.  Or do we do something bollywood naming the table after our favorite bollywood movies, although I like the idea, a few hurdles that I see are, that some titles are going to be long and not fit on the escort cards and second, we really don't have a bollywood theme so will it just look awkward?

Don't ask me why I am worrying over such a small detail, but its keeping me entertained at work and not miss FI.  LOL.

    Hi Hinaj
It's funny but I've been having the same thought process as well.  I don't want to do numbers but b/c my parents have never seen anything but numbers it will be a battle to convince them.
Furthermore i have no idea what words/labels I will use :(

I have no clue. =( I think naming them would be fun but since we don't have a theme, it'll be pretty hard. =/

    Hinaj,

I wanted to do the names of the places we been to all over US and outside, (but he said his Mom would have issue with that knowing we traveled together alone..haha I found it ridiculous but his mom is too conservative I guess) so I am naming the tables after places in philadelphia city he has taken me on dates or other memorable places in philly where we have spent time together. My lovely sister is going to go take pictures of these places and print the pictures on her picture printer at home and then put these in frames. I wanted to take pictures with him at these places, but incase his schedule doesnt allot it we will take pictures with or without him present..lol

HAHAHA!!!!  That's funny, actually I just realized that would be our problem too, if we did that, LOL.  See I am glad, I talk to you guys, or else....LOL.

I am at a lost, I need some ideas as to what I should do.....we can do landmarks of Chicago, but he hasnt lived her for so long it doesn't feel right to use it.

Do you think we can do our bollywood movies title as table names even though there is not really a bollywood style theme in the wedding..

I think I would like something more cultural or Indian I guess to use.....any ideas are appreciated!!!!

After reading the other posts in this thread....we don't have a theme...so doing anything other than numbers may not make much sense

Are you and your fiance known to be big Bollywood movie fans?  If so, I think the Bolloywood movie named tables would be super cute!  It'd be a reflection of you two and help to add a little personal touch to the wedding too.

    Meela,

NOt huge fans, but we do watch a good amount of bollywood movies, or we could do it after hindi songs, both of us love listening to them over any other music...hmmm...

Hina,  that would be nice too.  Pick out some of your favorite Hindi songs or really romantic songs and name your tables after those.  And maybe you can tie that into your wedding somehow.  CD favors that include ALL the songs that you've used as table names maybe...

I like the idea of naming after romantic hindi songs or you could do what my sis did, name after famous Landmarks over the world!

I love that I am not the only one whose parents would have an issue with people knowing we have travelled together!  When I moved to Boston 2 yrs ago (did the Boston - NYC commute for several yrs) so we could be in same city my parents told me to tell family, etc I was moving for work reasons - which was the opposite - have had to take a sideways step in my career to be in the same city!  I guess all SA parents are the same.

In terms of tables - I was thinking names but I just don't have the time / energy to figure it out so we are using numbers.  I like the idea of naming after significant places to you both and taking pictures.  A wedding we went to they did that - but it was with travel - and they put a little blurb on each table about why that place was signficant or a funny anecdote about something that happened there.

I like the idea of naming the tables. We both love James Bond and I think maybe we will name our tables after James Bond movies. Dorky, yes, but decidedly us.

I think that might confuse some people, so maybe numbers in smaller font is the way to go :)

We had a few ideas for table names.
~The kind of flower we were using for the centerpiece
~The color of the silk roses  (I was looking into an Etsy seller who makes ribbon roses, 180 roses for $150, 30 different colors available).
    ~Different spices.
~Different places we'd like to visit (we haven't done much traveling together).

I went to a wedding where the couple did their favorite movies.  However, we got seated at "Dumb and Dumber."  I have to say I felt slightly offended even though the couple probably wasn't being offensive.  Just an FYI.  For my wedding, I had zero energy to think of cute table names and design cute signs so I just went with numbers.
