HM update

I think we have it narrowed down to two places. (We don't want to go to Virginia City, Yellowstone, and the Tetons because it will be super packed!)

~Victoria, BC with a large loop down part of the Washinton and Oregon coast. On the way we will stop to see my MOH and her family in Ferndale WA and see my mom in Portland. I grew up in Portland so it would be nice to go to the coast again. The upside to this idea would be we can take two weeks and only spend $1,800 with lodging and gas. The downside to this trip is we would be driving a lot, but it would be spread out over two weeks. (I don't want to deal with the extra driving it takes to go to Tofino, BC,even though it looks amazing, it would add two extra days of driving.)

~Cozumel Mexico. We would pretty much lounge around and relax for a week. Enjoy our rental house with the private pool. Maybe do a few days of exploring. The downside is we would only go for a week and it costs $2,600 for airfare and lodging. (I told Chad that I didn't really want to go to Victoria or the parks all that much [but I would go because I wanted him to have a good time and just wanted to spend quality time with him], and he was surprised. WTF? I think I have been saying that for weeks now! haha. He said that maybe we should go to Mexico because he doesn't want me to be disappointed with him.) Last time I looked the cheaper tickets that we wanted were almost sold out. So we will have to pay over $100 more for the same flight since he had drug his feet for so long. :(

I am hoping we will figure this out soon. I am not going to relax until he puts a down payment on something. haha

What would you guys do? Where would you go if you were on a tight budget?

    Have you looked into Apple Vacations and Cheap Carribean? They are constantly running deals for vacations so you may be able to do Mexico for less than $2500.

    This is just my opinion, but I would do mexico.  Even just one week will be very relaxing, especially after the wedding.  I agree with a PP that you should look into various options in mexico since you may be able to find cheaper packages and can extend your trip!

    BTW I have heard that if you look for airfare more than once on the same computer for the same trip, the price will go up each time. Try using someone else's computer to see if its still more expensive.

    I vote for Victoria. My aunt's Canadian and her and my uncle got married up there. My mom still raves about how gorgeous it is there. That airfare just seems crazy to me, and knowing me, I would drink the water.

    ETA: Okay...I kind of skimmed. If you don't want to go to BC, then definitely go to Mexico!

    He may not have a job by summer (they made some new rules regarding sales, and no one at the store in town will be able to meet them. Very stupid) I only get paid $500 every two weeks, so it is worth it. He is the one that mentioned it. If he is still at the store, he has vacation he will take.

    I have looked a ton on allinclusive.com. Apple and CC confuse me, they never work like they are supposed to and are kinda spamy. I don't like that. Would they have different stuff than AI?

    I would love to go to Mexico. He isn't sure he wants to. I would rather spend time with  him and have the good memories than basically force him to go to Mexico and him having a rotten time. If that makes sense?

    I am hoping he will come around though!

    We booked two weeks at an AI in Mexico for just over $4000--try checking the packages on expedia. We also looked at Sunwing, but that might just be Canadian...not sure.
