So, we decided to change our venue from his familie's farm to Seven oaks. Someone had tentatively booked that venue for our day. We were hoping that they would back out, they didn't. So, we could change our day to one day earlier and that would be a Friday, it's just another day. I guess i'm just upset because we were going to be getting married on our 6 1/2 year anniversary. Oh well, I guess everything happens for a reason.

I was thinking, you said it was a barn what about this place. It's close to DSM.

Just an idea so you can still get married on the day you want.

Thanks for the idea. I checked it out but, we ended up just moving the day. Have you ever been to Seven Oaks in Boone/Ogden? It's a very pretty lodge and inexpensive. We use to snowboard there alot when we first started dating, it's a special place for us and FI didn't want to give it up.

*mcsweets* I have a few ideas on how i might decorate it. I know that I really hate the dance floor there so, we are renting one and going to put it somewhere maybe in the middle but towards the windows? I'm not sure on that yet. I keep changing my mind on what colors to use. I know that orange will be in there but i keep going between grey, champange, and ivory. I am DIYing all of my centerpieces and they are going to be two different types of candles. I think that i might line the windowsils with some pillar candles and leaf garland? I know that I would like to do a chalk board menu made out of an antique window frame. What kind of ideas have you come up with yet? are you going to do the chair lift? I know we are! it sounds like it would be fun for us and our guests.

)) We also are doing the bonfire too (if you didn't know they offered that!!!) I agree about the dance floor! I might "hope" that it is nice outside and maybe move the dancing outside?

We keep changing our colors, too (lol) We started off with a "burnt orange" with a dash of violet ... but now I like violet and silver so who knows where we will end up by next October! I really want to find a company who can do some cool lighting up the walls and maybe the ceiling. We were going to do fish in our centerpieces but now I don't think so! We don't want any dead fishies!!!

We are doing the bonfire too, I just need to find someone to manage it! Are you going to do a smore station? I think it would be fun and would be another dessert for people to have.

O I forgot to add -- we are kinda doing a "travel" theme. We travel a lot and didn't want to inconvenience our guests with having a destination wedding. So, we are making every table a different "place" we have been. We are going to put signs on the tables that say "Welcome to .... " and then have pictures of us while we were a that place. I still don't know what we will do for centerpieces ...

That's a fun idea! If i may ask where have you been? Also, since you are going to name those tables after a place you have been. Why don't you make the centerpieces relate to place? or the pictures can be your centerpices and you can have table number holders that look like landmarks from other countries like: Big Ben, Eiffel Tower etc.

We thought about that, but most of the places we have been to have been in the Caribbean ... Belize, Virgin Islands, Honduras, Bahamas ... We have taken 4 cruises (taking our 4th in Feb) so most of it comes from them! We didn't want to do a "caribbean" theme because it doesn't really fit the fall atmosphere. We have also been to Florida, Smoky Mountians, and Georgia. So ... not many places like Italy or anything!

We may do branches and then hang pictures from them?

I think the branch idea would work really well to incorporate the pictures and a fall theme. It's a good idea.
