escort cards

We aren't having assigned seating (too small) but I'm thinking we should still do escort cards just so that people are able to claim their spot in case they need to get up or something... what do you think? Are you doing escort cards?

I felt the same way, wondering if we really needed them it not.... I think we're going to end up having around 30 people, but we decided to go ahead with them and we're using luggage tags which will also be our favor. I found a great deal and their in or colors so it all ended up working out. I'm not even sure if we are going to write table assignments on them or just a cute little poem thanking then for coming and telling them to sit where they like. How many people are you thinking you will have?

Right now it looks like we'll have about 40... I like the idea of writing a little note saying to sit where they should! Good idea with the luggage tags too!

No, we are not doing them. We are guessing we will have 12 - 14 people tops and we are all sitting at the same table.

We had 36 people total and we did escort cards and had assigned people tables.  The reason I felt like it was necessary with such a small group was because of something that happened at my older sisters wedding in Mexico.  My mom,  my younger sister, and I were all helping my older sister with her bussel and it took awhile because some of the buttons had fallen off.  Anyways by the time we got to the reception we were all spread out and my mom got upset and actually started crying because the only spot for her was at a table with my dad and his wife (with whom he had an affair with). It really upset her and DH and I were stuck at a table with no one we knew and no one who talked to us so it was awkward.  I did assigned tables so that I wouldn't have to worry about my mom ending up by my dad and DH's parents ending up next to each other either.  If you don't have as much family drama as I do then the assigned tables may not be neccessary!

We had 16 ppl and still did assigned seating. We were so glad that we did. No one had to figure out where to sit, there was no rearranging to fit someone else in or anything. Ppl just found their names and sat down. We had the wedding favor at each place setting and a tag on each one with their name on it. It made everything really easy. I would highly recommend a sitting chart even for a small number of guests.

I would only do escort cards with assigned seating. It may be confusing if you did them with no table numbers.

    Jules,

Do you mind sharing where/ what website you found your luggage tags at?

    Thanks!
