Favorite Registry Item?

I've slowly started the process of registering - but am having a hard time, which is kind of hard to believe for me (I thought registering, along with the honeymoon, would be the funnest aspects!)  Anyway, what are some of your favorite (funniest/most random/most needed) items that you've registered for?  I'm hoping this may give me a push in the right direction!

I'm very curious to see the responses! We haven't registered yet, so I don't have much advice.

My brother got married last year, and his favorite thing they registered for was a bathrobe for himself (since he felt like a lot of the registry was "girl stuff"). They also registered for a giant bag of M&Ms at BB&B because he got a little scanner-gun crazy... and someone actually did buy it off the registry as a joke. :) Not that this story helps you at all, but it was pretty funny to see the M&Ms wrapped in fancy paper!

I haven't had new dishes in so long! I'm super excited to get our new set. I'm pairing them with a white table cloth, black runner, and the green vase below, with white daisies in it (I'm an interior designer so I have a whole vision!). I also registered for some wall art at BB&B that will look good with the whole vibe of the dining room.

At the moment, I'll say my KitchenAid Blender since my sis got it for me for my birthday! It's Cinnamon Red and is the top rated blender by Cooks Illustrated :)

I'm super excited for the shark pocket mop and all of its accessories!  I have wanted one ever since we moved into our new house with hard wood floors, but couldn't justify spending the money while paying for the wedding.  Gotta love BB&B!

Piggybacking on this...we won't be registering for a long time, so I'm interested in hearing your fave items.  I can only imagine that our fave items will be off of the REI registry...

    Wow, gorgeous dishes d_smith.

I can't wait for matching dishes.  Multi-colored Fiestaware here we come!  Ours are a mish mash of his 3 different types of hand-me-downs and my set that I got from an ex (!) plus bits and pieces I bought at dollar stores, etc.  I also can't wait for new silverware all in one pattern (ours are old and crappy), and new towels that all go (again, hand-me-down mish mash).  Are you seeing a theme here?  :)

I'd also like a new vaccum cleaner.  We have 3 that are all broken in different ways.  FI would like a gas grill.  Our grill is a simple Coleman charcoal grill ... and we have an old hibachi.  It's time for an upgrade.

If you'd like idea for what to get, the Real Simple weddings issue (at B&N now!) has a really good list of basics, seasonal and fun stuff to think about when registering.

The Eureka Pet Lover vaccuum is AMAZING, in case anyone has pets and is looking for a sweet new vaccuum :)

We haven't registered yet but we are going to do REI and BBB. REI will probably be the best :) We have most of the housewares we need, I want to get new dishes just for fun, and cuz ours are really big, and I'd like some NORMAL sized dishes to help with portion control, but FI doesn't want a new set :( booo.

therickson - I would suggest going for the smaller food processor if you're registering for Cuisinart. The larger mouthed one has this super-annoying safety mechanism on it :P They don't want idiots sticking their hands down the thing into the blade, so you can't turn on the machine without having the pusher latched in...which means you have to turn it off, prestack in your veggies, cheese or whatever in much smaller size to leave space for the pusher to latch into the safety thing, then turn it on. I wish mine were the OLD kind where you take the pusher out, put more veggies in, and push!

Jennyann - I sooo wish I had opted for a red mixer when my mom bought me one several years ago. I was deciding to be "practical" and got white since that would match any kitchen. Of course, here I am 3 years later, red is STILL my favorite color and I can't truly justify asking for a new mixer! FYI - I would also not recommend the "professional" bowl lift model as that's what I have and the whisk leaves a good 3/8" gap to the bottom of the bowl so it does a sucky job on egg whites and cream! The more common head-lift variety does a better job. (My mom insisted I needed the bowl lift as she burned out  the motor on her artisan...but then I don't make super-heavy bread double-batches of bread dough!!)

Eeekkkk!  I can't wait to register!  I got so excited at the wedding show when the guy from Macy's was talking about it!  FI just rolled his eyes.

I would totally love one of those Kitchen Aid mixers but I want the lime green one.  I also want new fancy thread count sheets and a real set of kitchen knives.  The ones we have now are from Ikea and suck.  LOL
