Bridesmaids Robes :) Help!!

I need help deciding which colors to pick for my maids robes while we get ready! I am most likley ordering from these two places:

Which color do you like best?

Thanks!!!!

Re: Bridesmaids Robes :) Help!!

  • What color are your bridemaids dresses, if you want them to be memorablbe use one of the colors in your wedding then embroider their names or official bridemaid, maid of honor or what ever you like in the dress color. If you colors and black and red with the maids dresses black have the robe red with black embroidry. Just a suggestion!
  • Ditto Milkduds. I would never wear a robe that had "bridesmaid" embroidered on it, unless perhaps I was home with the stomach flu and had gotten sick over my other robes. I MIGHT wear a nice waffle robe with the first letter of my first name embroidered on it.

Yup. Emphasis on the "might". It's way less dorky if it's just a plain robe.

Can you order individual colors? All of my BM had different favorite colors, and if I were doing something like that I'd order each of them one in a color that they like or wear the most. Matching clothes are dorky, even for a wedding.
  • Ditto, pp. I plan on doing robes for my girls as well and they both like pink and purple so thats what I'll be doing, sans names or embroidery. Its a gift to them and I want them to like it and HOPEFULLY, wear it again.

  • You may want to think about getting the robes in the color of the bridesmaid dresses.  If they are getting their make up done (or even doing it themselves) it may help for them to be wearing that color while they get ready so its easier to see how the makeup will look when paired with the actual dress.

It's similar to the bride wearing white or ivory to a makeup trial.

  • I don't know how anyone else feels about this.... but, I also encourage cotton or waffle style robes. Satin robes are super cute and sexy, but they aren't all that comfortable (in my opinion).  The fabric doesn't allow air flow at all, and if it's at all warm, they get somewhat sticky feeling.

  • Wow ladies, thanks so much for all your advice!!!! My girls are wearing black or champagne (I am almost 100% set on black but we havent found a dress yet.)

I think the idea of getting it the same color of their dress would like cool! I just didnt know if I wanted them in black getting ready and then in black again that night. I was thinking a light pink or the blue would be cool!

Thanks again for your help! Definitley wouldnt get bridesmaids on the back because I want them to be able to keep them after.

  • Just FYI - I just bought the royal blue ones from Fredericks but I'm returning them - they weren't actually "royal" but a little lighter than pictured.  Instead I found cute blue damask print satin robes at JC Penny for only $16 each that I bought for my girls :)  Once you decide on the color I would suggest a basic google search (ex. royal blue robe), that's how I found these!  Also Overstock had several affordable options when I looked.
