Plus-Sized

Hair

I am an idiot about hairstyles and need help finding a hairstyle that would look good on a plus-size lady. I will be wearing a veil, and pulling back my hair has a tendency to make my chin look at least doubled. I will admit some of the pictures I have seen on here I don't like.....so recommend someone elses hairstyle and not your own.

Re: Hair

  • Do you have long hair?  I find wearing long hair down can help to soften all my pudgy outlines.  I haven't figured out how to do it properly yet, but I'm looking for a soft wave, with just enough hair pulled back on the sides to keep it out of my face.

  • i didn't like my hair up for the same reason... i did my hair down mostly with a couple pieces pulled to the back/side. i've also seen PS girls with lovely half up dos- so you have the hair on your shoulders to hide what you want to, and some of it back so it's not all just hanging there

  • You could always go to a salon and tell the girl to play with your hair (without actually putting product in) and see what you like.  Or do this several times - or try going to a beauty school - before doing your hair trial or paying big bucks.  I'm considering this option.
  • I am doing 2 styles (similar) for our day.  Granted my stylist is attending the wedding and wants to help me do this.

    Ceremony:

Half up, half down with smooth crown.

    Reception:
Hair let down and tousled then pulled to a loose side pony (to keep it from getting all sweaty)
