Non-Church Venues for the Ceremony

I do not attend church and my fiance is not religious at all, so we do not think it would be right to get married in a church. But, I love the look and feel of a church. Some of them are beautiful and look like they have so much history.
So, does anyone know of a venue in New England with the architecture and beauty of a church, but is not a religious venue? We know someone who got married at Methuen Memorial Music Hall, and it was beautiful. It is along the lines of what I'm looking for. I'm interested in Belcourt Castle in Rhode Island because they have a gorgeous ballroom for the ceremony. But, I'm still waiting to hear back about the cost, so I want to have a back up incase it is too expensive.

Thanks girls!

We got married at the Alvirne Chapel in Hudson (very affordable, but on the smaller side).  You could fit maybe 110-120 MAX.  There's the Searles Chapel and also the Brookline Chapel in Brookline, NH (also on the smaller side).  HTH!

Thanks a bunch! That's a good place to start. I looked at both, they are both very pretty and definitely the style that I'm looking for.

I don't know if this would be too expensive for you, but Searles Castle has amazing architecture and is an all-inclusive venue.  We're getting married there next year.  The ceremony is outside, and our reception is in a tent, but the entire thing overall is just gorgeous.  I have more information and pictures in my bio, here: http://drpeanutbutter.weebly.com/searles-castle.html

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or want a rough estimate of costs!

I live in the Lakes Region and there are several buildings that used to be churches that now belong to the towns.  We have considered getting married at one of these because it is a vintage church but it's not a practicing church anymore.  We decided against this because as was common in older times, it has two side aisles instead of one center aisle; it also doesn't have much room for parking.  There are others available around the state, though.  GL
